Our container is getting full of all the equipment going out for the Big Chelmsford Spring Clean.

Don’t forgot to get your order in using the link in the comments.

If you have equipment already and plan on going out, let us know where you will be litter picking and send us pictures or videos of your activity and any treasure you may find, the older and more obscure the better!

It is always nice to do some partnership working with the local community policing team. A number of householders were spoken to about how they were presenting their house hold waste and how they can play a part in reducing fly-tipping.

Today, the Community Policing Team worked in partnership with Chelmsford City Council in Melbourne to target antisocial behaviour, fly tipping, littering and to provide a high visibility patrol in the area to prevent crime. Whilst we were in the area we spoke with local residents to listen to concerns and to address these. We carried out foot patrols in the area to provide the high visibility patrols and to tackle antisocial behaviour as part of .

Are YOU doing the right thing with your rubbish?

Fly tipping is the illegal dumping of items and can range from a single bin bag to an entire truckload.

🚫 Leaving items outside a closed charity shop is FLY TIPPING.

🚫 Leaving items around recycling banks is FLY TIPPING.

Your waste is YOUR responsibility - make sure it is disposed of correctly.

This week, Chelmsford City Council hosted a launch event for the Let's S.C.R.A.P. Fly Tipping campaign 🚫

District councils from across Essex have joined together to support the Love Essex campaign to tackle fly tipping.

👀 Look out for the posters that will be popping up across Chelmsford over the next few days, and for the increased number of patrols by our community protection officers.

We'll be sharing information over the coming weeks about what constitutes fly tipping, the impact fly tipping has, how to book a responsible waste carrier, and alternative methods of disposing of waste. 🚮

In attempt to crack down on fly tipping, officers from our service joined Essex Police and HMRC officers this week to ensure all those carrying waste in their vehicles were doing so legally and that they could provide proof their waste was being disposed of at an authorised waste disposal site. We will continue to work with our colleagues on joint initiatives such as this to educate businesses and householders on how to dispose of waste appropriately. If you need further information on waste disposal then please check out the links in the comments.

Here are some tips to ensure you're choosing the right kennels for your companions:

📜 Always check that the establishment is licensed by its local authority. Boarding establishments must display their licence and should be happy to show this to you. We recommend that you check the licence - including its issue and expiry dates - before boarding your pets.

🧐 While you're checking, ask for their insurance too - again, any good organisation should be happy to show you their relevant licences and certificates.

📅 If possible, start the process of finding animal boarding well before you plan to be away, as good places get booked up in advance!

You can check our public register to find licenced animal boarders in the Chelmsford district - just head to our website and search "animal boarding" or follow the link the comments of this post 👇
