Concerned about development in our villages?

A Neighbourhood Plan gives the community an opportunity to help shape the future of Woodham Ferrers & Bicknacre — but it can only happen if residents are willing to get involved.

The Parish Council is aware of the proposal by Gladman Developments for approximately 95 new homes on land off Main Road, Bicknacre.

Councillors will shortly be holding an informal meeting with representatives of the developer in order to better understand the proposals being put forward. At this stage, the purpose of the meeting is for Councillors to listen and gather information only, and the Parish Council has not formed any view on the proposal.

The Parish Council has also invited the developer to attend a potential public meeting for residents. Whilst no public meeting has currently been arranged, the developer has advised that they are not intending to attend one at this stage. Should this position change, or should there be sufficient public interest, further information will be shared with residents accordingly.

The Parish Council is pleased to confirm that our local MP, Sir John Whittingdale will be attending the Annual Parish Meeting this Friday. (24th April).

While planning decisions are determined at a local level and are not within an MP’s direct control, this is still a valuable chance to highlight broader issues such as housing pressures and the impact on our local area.

This is a great opportunity for residents to come along, hear updates on local matters, and raise issues of wider concern that affect our community.

All residents are welcome to attend.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this with friends and neighbours who may not be on Facebook, including via local WhatsApp groups.
