šŸ’‰ MMR Vaccine Options Available

We know some people prefer vaccines that do not contain pork‑derived gelatine. If this applies to you, your friends or your family, please know that a gelatine‑free MMR vaccine is available on request.

You can speak to your GP practice or local vaccination team, who will be happy to arrange the gelatine‑free option for you.

Protecting yourself and your loved ones from measles, mumps and rubella has never been easier — and we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Did you know the NHS offers the HPV vaccine to boys and girls from the age of 12-13?

Please sign your child’s HPV vaccine consent form when you receive it. The HPV vaccine is safe, effective and has already prevented thousands of cancers in the UK.

Girls under 25 and boys born after 1 September 2006 who missed their HPV vaccine at school, can also catch up at their GP.

Long study sessions and endless applications can leave your mind feeling foggy.

A movement break can help you reset, refocus, and return with more clarity. And when you move with others, whether that be a friend, a flatmate, or teammate, you’re not just helping your mind; you’re strengthening the social bonds that support your wellbeing.

Together with Mind in Essex, Active Essex are here to support you: https://orlo.uk/1oC0L

🐣 Don’t get caught on the hop this Easter – order your repeat prescriptions now

With GP practices and many pharmacies closed for four days over the Easter bank holiday, now is the time to check your medication.

šŸ’Š If you’re running low, order your repeat prescription as soon as possible — ideally at least seven working days before you run out. You can request it through your GP practice or via the NHS App.

If you need medical help when services are closed, use NHS 111 online or call 111 for advice 24/7.
For mental health support:
• Adults – call 111 and choose the mental health option
• Under 18s – call 0800 953 0222 (working hours) or 0800 995 1000 (out of hours)

Plan ahead, stay well, and enjoy a safe and stress‑free Easter break: https://orlo.uk/ZQVLy

Share your experience of cervical screening in Essex

Cervical screening (previously called a smear test) helps prevent cervical cancer by identifying issues early. It saves around 5,000 lives each year.

We want to understand people’s experiences of screening so we can make it easier, more comfortable, and more accessible for everyone.

Our short survey asks about:
• how you felt when you were invited
• what encourages you to attend
• what might make it difficult
• how we can improve the experience

It takes just 8–10 minutes to complete and all responses are anonymous.

The survey is open until 23 April 2026.

šŸ‘‰ See first comment for link to survey.

Please share this post with friends, family and others who may have experience of cervical screening.

This we’re celebrating the work of Social Prescribers who help people feel more connected and more supported with their health and wellbeing.

This personalised, non-medical approach connects people to activities, services and practical support that can make a real difference.

Jenny from Chelmsford shares how her local Social Prescriber, Frank, helped her during a difficult time and how he’s helped members of her local community stay independent.

Don't let a cough or cold get you down 🤧 Your local pharmacist can help.

Coughs and colds will clear up on their own, but your local pharmacist will be able to recommend medicines and remedies to ease your symptoms.

If you're able to, we recommend asking a friend or family to visit a pharmacy for you, to enable you to recover quicker while reducing the risk of spreading any germs 😷
