๐Ÿ“ฃ On Monday 22 June at 10am, the Mayor of Chelmsford will lead a ceremony at Chelmsford's war memorial, raising a flag to mark Armed Forces Day. ๐Ÿ“ฃ

The event honours Britainโ€™s Armed Forces of the past, present, and future โ€” from serving personnel to service families, veterans, and cadets. ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ

Armed Forces Day traditionally takes place on the last Saturday in June. The Armed Forces Day flag will fly over the Civic Centre until Monday 29 June.

Chelmsford City Council joins a host of other local authorities raising Armed Forces Day flags across the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, and Isle of Man. โค๏ธ

With the hot weather looking set to return, here's our annual plea to not use overflowing bins. ๐Ÿ™

We know it's annoying to find a bin full when you get to it. On hot summer days, they fill up really fast. ๐Ÿ˜…

You can help make Chelmsford a lovely place for everyone by finding another bin, or taking rubbish home with you. ๐Ÿ

Whether it's by a bin, on a bin, or formerly in a bin, it's still litter at the end of the day. We need everyone's help to keep Chelmsford tidy. ๐Ÿ’š

Thanks, all.

Your old stuff shouldn't be everyone else's problem. ๐Ÿซ

We collect unwanted sofas and some other large items. Or if you canโ€™t wait, you can book a licensed waste carrier. ๐Ÿคฆ

If you reported either of these fly tips โ€” thank you. We especially appreciate when people take a few moments to point out offences like these so we can investigate. ๐Ÿ™

Weโ€™re on the case. ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

Community spirit in action! ๐Ÿซถ

Itโ€™s a wrap for VolFEST โ€“ Chelmsfordโ€™s annual celebration of compassion and connection. Great conversations were had, the sun shone (mostly!) and there were adorable dogs. ๐Ÿฆฎ

Every year, this event helps people to find support from local organisations and showcases the amazing work being done across our city.

A very big thank you to the 50 or so local charities and community groups who spent the day in the High Street. Weโ€™re lucky to have such dedicated support services in our city. ๐Ÿค—

If you couldnโ€™t come but would like to find out more, give Chelmsford CVS a follow or visit their website ๐Ÿ‘‡

โš ๏ธ Fly tip: COUNCIL AWARE. โš ๏ธ

If you see a fly tip with council stickers or tape on it, you might wonder why we havenโ€™t already removed it. ๐Ÿค”

Dealing with fly-tipping is about more than clearing up. Itโ€™s about discouraging it in the first place. To do that, we need to hold people responsible, and to do that we need to investigate the โ€œscene of the grimeโ€. ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ”

So, if you see a council sticker or tape on a fly tip, please rest assured weโ€™re doing everything we can to deal with all aspects of the case in a methodical way. ๐Ÿงฎ
