A catch up on what the team have been up to

Thursday evening the team were out at to practice their water rescue skills

Sunday 30th August we were tasked to attend an incident at Golant with persons in the water calling for help. Working alongside Fowey Harbour and Fowey RNLI the persons were located safe and well

🚨🚨📟📟 Incident Attendance Request 📟📟🚨🚨

The team were tasked today to Spit Beach to assist and extract an unwell person from the beach

Once on scene the team gave casualty care, and with no ambulances available the team extracted the casualty from the beach to their family.

Once with the family the casualty was taken by them for further checks at the local Minor Injury Unit

Thank you to all the public who helped today before we got to the scene

We wish the casualty a speed recovery

🚨🚨📟📟 Incident attendance request🚨🚨📟📟

The team were tasked at 21:15 on Sunday eve to assist South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust with casualty on a vessel along side at Fowey Harbour

Working with the ambulance service the team extricated the casualty from the vessel to the ambulance

Great teamwork in a tight space meant the casualty could get onward care in hospital

We wish them a speedy recovery

🚨🚨📟📟 Incident attendance 📟🚨🚨

The team were tasked along with Fowey RNLI and Mevagissey Coastguard to reports of a person cut off by the tide at island by Charlestown Harbour

Working with the lifeboat the person was extracted and brought back to the harbour. Due to the weather and sea conditions a back up rope rescue system was also put in place

Safety advice was given to the person around tides

Another great joint rescue with the lifeboat crew

🚨🚨📟📟 incident request 🚨🚨📟📟

The team were tasked this evening 10/07/26 to reports of an injured person beach

Once on scene the team gave casualty care to the person. Luckily an off duty paramedic was on the beach who also assisted.

With the treatment given it saved an ambulance attendance

Team tasking today 🚨🚨📟📟🚨🚨

At 1330 we were tasked to polkerrisbeach to assist the ambulance service with casualty on the beach

On arrival the team carried out casualty care until the ambulance arrived

Our initial treatment meant the ambulance did not have to take the casualty to hospital.

Great team work from the emergency services , and thank you to the public and the staff of the water sports centre for their assistance

At the time of the incident we were on our way to a school PR event so sorry to all the pupils who were expecting to see us, we will come back another day

If in doubt, call 999 📞

Whether you’re with someone who gets into difficulty along the coast, spot someone from a distance and aren’t sure if they need help or think the situation could become serious – call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

We’d rather receive a call made with good intent and not be needed, than arrive too late 💙

Remember: Phone, Float, Throw 🛟

It could help save a life but never go in after someone.

🚨🚨📟📟 team Callout 📟📟🚨🚨

Another busy two days for the team,

Wednesday saw the team tasked to pentewan_sands to assist the ambulance service with a medical event along with Mevagissey Coastguard and Cornwall Air Ambulance

Today 25th we were tasked to a cliff fall at Duporth beach.

It was a lucky escape for the people underneath the cliff as it fell. Luckily they managed to get out the way.

Please remember to not sit at the base of cliffs due to debris that can fall.

Team Callout 📟📟🚨🚨📟📟

The team have had a busy couple of days with two call-outs

Sunday saw the team called to assist the ambulance with an inland casualty extraction, but whilst on route the casualty had managed to get themselves to the ambulance

Today saw the team paged again to assist with a casualty who had fallen ill at Duporth beach.

Once onscene with the casualty we found the ambulance service had no resources to assist, so in consultation with the family and the Fowey RNLI we used the lifeboat to extract the casualty to charlestownharbour where the family could take the person home to rest.

RED WEATHER WARNING ISSUED 🔴⚠️

Rare red weather warnings have been issued across the Midlands and Southern England over the coming days due to extreme heat.

This is the highest level of alert and indicates a danger to life.

Despite the hot air temperature, water can remain cool and cold water shock is still a risk.

Reduce the risk in warmer weather:

Don’t go alone – look out for your friends and those you go with 👫

Be prepared – Take extra water with you to help you stay hydrated, as well wearing sunscreen and a hat 💧

If you’re in difficulty in the water, remember Float to Live – Lean back with your ears submerged and move your arms and legs to help keep you afloat until you can control your breathing 🌊

In an emergency at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
