On Friday 25 September, all schools across the county are invited to take part in Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity’s Non-School Uniform Day in support of our Children’s Cancer Unit Fund during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Please encourage your local school to sign up and support young people facing cancer in Cornwall.

Pupils can wear their own clothes for a small donation, or schools can get creative with a sponsored challenge, fun activity or fundraising event.

Last year, schools across Cornwall raised an incredible £15,000, helping provide vital extras that make a real difference for children and families undergoing cancer treatment. Funds have supported trips, music therapy, sibling support, family refreshments, gaming equipment, toys and much more.

Every pound helps bring comfort, smiles and special memories during some of the toughest times in a child’s life.

Together, we can help make a child’s cancer journey a little easier.

🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏃‍♂️ WELL DONE MR ALTOFT! 🏃‍♂️🚴‍♂️🏊‍♂️

What an absolutely incredible achievement this weekend! Mr Altoft has officially completed his Ironman Challenge and somehow survived to tell the tale! 👏

That’s a 2.5-mile swim 🏊‍♂️, 112-mile bike ride 🚴‍♂️ and a 26.2-mile run 🏃‍♂️… because apparently doing one form of exercise wasn’t hard enough!

A HUGE congratulations to Mr Altoft on an amazing achievement. Your determination, commitment and sheer madness have been truly inspiring! 💪🔥

And an even bigger THANK YOU to everyone who sponsored him. Together, you have helped him raise an incredible £2,871! 🎉👏

🏐⚽ What a turnout! ⚽🏐

A huge thank you to all of our children who took part in this week’s football and netball trials. We were blown away by the numbers. 44 children for netball and 50 for football! 🙌

The standard this year was exceptionally high, which made for some seriously tricky decisions! There was plenty of enthusiasm, determination and some fantastic skills on show. 👏

We’ll be sending confirmation to parents tomorrow with details of training days and times, so keep an eye out! 📩

Well done to everyone who took part, you should all be very proud of yourselves! Charlestown has some serious talent!

And just like that… our new Reception children are nearly at the end of their first full week! 🎉

What a week it’s been! From finding their way around, meeting new friends and learning new routines, to tackling all the little challenges that come with starting school — they have taken it all in their stride. 👏

There have been plenty of smiles, lots of exploring, a few wobbly moments and so much learning along the way.

We are incredibly proud of them and the brilliant start they have made. This is only the beginning of their school adventure, and we’re very excited to see where it takes them! 🚀✨

We are really looking forward to welcoming all of our children and families back to school on Monday 7th September. The school gates will open at the usual time of 8:30am and we can’t wait to see everyone again after the summer break.

A very special welcome to all of our new children joining us in EYFS! We are so excited to meet you and begin this wonderful journey together.

Today, our teachers have been busy in school for an INSET day, getting everything ready for the new school year. We’re looking forward to having the whole team back together tomorrow, to complete important training and to ensure learning spaces are ready for the children.

There is a real buzz of excitement around school and we can’t wait for Monday.
