It is with sincere apologies and deep regret that The Hilt Social Committee has had to take the decision to postpone The Hiltingbury Fun Dog Show due to extreme heat forecast for the 21st June. Pet owners will appreciate that we have to take animal welfare seriously and our decision is based on this alone. We will endeavour to reschedule in early September. Please keep an eye on our website and social media for more information.

Lastly I would like to thank the Managers and Social Committee team at The Hilt for all their hard work in organising this event and to the many Sponsors and stall holders who have shown their support to the community they serve.

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST TO INFORM AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. THANKS.

What a wonderful opportunity to access Hampshire County Council Archives and see the continuing exhibition of Chandler's Ford D-Day. This amazing exhibition gives an insight into the role that Chandler's Ford played within 1944.

We look forward to welcoming visitors to our next Saturday opening. We will be operating a full search room service this Saturday, 20th June, 9.30am-4pm. Arrangements will be as on other days - details at https://www.hants.gov.uk/librariesandarchives/archives/visit-us

It is also an opportunity to see our current exhibition 'Chandler's Ford D-Day', which looks at the role Chandler's Ford played during 1944, from the experiences of the villagers to the Canadian, American and British armed forces based there, including the British headquarters of the Canadian Film and Photo Unit, and the area's involvement with the Spitfire. The exhibition will also be open again on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, but closes at 4pm on Wednesday 24th.

According to Hampshire County Council's Planned Maintenance website, there will be an overnight road closure of a section of Leigh Road, joining Bournemouth Road. The road closure is reported to be in place between 8pm and 6am between 16th and 20th June.

** Edit ** After an evening walk by one of the team we discovered that works had not started as planned on the Hampshire Highways website. At least we are all prepared. No surprises.

Road closure in School Lane ( Chandler's Ford Industrial Estate ) is causing havoc on the roads this evening, especially Bournemouth Road. Unfortunately it seems that this road closure will be in place until 19 June.
Allow extra time and stay safe.
