A steady couple of days for the crew, yesterday we attended to reports of a hedge on fire outside moretonhampstead, on arrival it was clear it was a bonfire which had caught the hedge alight, the landowner was already in attendance and we helped extinguish the fire, and today we were mobilised with our colleagues from Okehampton Fire Station to reports of a tractor fire in Inwardleigh, the tractor was 100% destroyed by fire and also damaged overhead power cables

A busy 24 hours for Station 23 seeing us called out three times, first at 1930 yesterday to a gorse fire near Chagford common, at around midday today our alerters sounded again and we were sent to a fire in the open near Postbridge, having just arrived back at station we were called upon again to a bin lorry fire near South Tawton,

Tonight Chagford hosted a training evening focusing on refreshing the crew in wearing PRPS suits, these are worn at large scale incidents where there are a number of casualties requiring decontamination. Regular training makes sure the crew are ready to deploy anywhere in the county or beyond if required

A busy day at chagford yesterday, we attended 3 incidents and were hosted by USAR for our training night. During our drill night we were set a task of recovering a casualty in a collapsed structure .

This Saturday Chagford fire station is holding its final charity carwash of the year, come along and get your car washed and grab a cup of tea and some cake between 10 am and 4pm, all proceeds to the wonderful
