24 hour solidarity strike 17/12/25.

Sign up via the link in bio to participate.

Help spread the urgent word in the face of media suppression and support the strikers and their demands in whatever way you can. The hunger strikers show us that, even in the most repressive of situations we all have some power.

The British state will be content to let these political prisoners die in its care. We must not let that happen.

Follow for updates and resources for solidarity including an action toolkit.

End the genocide. End apartheid. End British complicity. Free Palestine.

Today, Powys County Council voted with a strong majority to divest their pension fund from Israel!

From the motion text :

' The ongoing, deeply concerning, and harrowing conflict in Gaza has resulted in significant loss of innocent life.

·       Recent figures obtained and analysed for the Powys Pension Fund suggest that 0.3% of the total fund is invested directly in Israel, estimated at between £2.5 million and £3 million.

·       The UN list of companies complicit in Israeli aggression in Palestine, and research by Powys resident Michael Brown, who works in the ethical investment sector, suggest that, because many business interests are involved, indirect investment by the fund could be as much as £10 million.

This council resolves:

To express in strong terms this Council’s view that it does not wish to be associated with companies potentially complicit in war crimes.'

Diolch to Councillors Chloe Masefield, proposed, and Sian Cox, who seconded, all those who voted to pass and Powys residents who called or emailed their representatives.

Powys CC becomes the 3rd council to vote to divest, along with Cardiff and Carmarthenshire, with Pembrokeshire and Monmouthshire soon to consider their own motions.

Look out soon for details for how Ceredigion residents can put pressure on their council to do the same.

We mourn the recent death of 22 year old Ahmad Hatem Muhammad Khdeirat. He was kidnapped in May from his home in Hebron in the West Bank by the IOF and held without trial in 'administrative detention' - a policy of the Israeli occupation where Palestinian people are detained often without charge or trial, often indefinitely. The torture practices and appalling treatment of Palestinian people by Israel in detention are well documented.

At a time where brave citizens from the and are being held in an Israeli torture prison for the 'crime' of attempting to break the illegal siege on Gaza, and also where a fragile ceasefire in Gaza and possible hostage exchange is being prepared, let's feel hopeful and glad for the families who will be reunited, whilst also holding in our thoughts Ahmed and his family.

We stood together, in silence, with song and poetry. We mourned lives cruelly taken and celebrated lives still lived in steadfastness.

Safom gyda'n gilydd, mewn distawrwydd, gyda chân a barddoniaeth. Galarom am fywydau a gymerwyd yn greulon a dathlu bywydau a oedd yn dal i gael eu byw mewn dygnwch.

We will continue to bear witness and act to dismantle the system of oppression that drives the gen oc ide in Palestine and in countries across the world. For those martyred and for the humanity of us all.

Feeling relieved that all our friends are now back with their families.

Beyond the Checkpoints youth visits from Palestine - better news today. Our West Bank friends were at the Jordanian bridge (first part of the border crossing) at 6am and were through the Israeli bridge by 9.30. They point out that was three and a half hours to travel less than 5 miles .. but for now the point is that they're through, hurray, and on their way home. The Jerusalem team are back home already. الحمد الله لسلامتهم

As for us, we started planning way, way back - was it a year ago after the Oct 24 visit finished? The June-July visit had to be postponed to Sept-Oct and it has been a year of relentless work.Still so much to do to finish it off, but the journey in the middle really was a triumph. Wishing all the best to our Palestinian friends and their families and a huge thank you to every single person this side involved in supporting and running this amazing thing - really thank you, all of you, dozens of us at the least! We did well!

Now for some of us it's breathe gently but don't relax too deeply - We are going to run another youth visit from Palestine coming here in just six weeks! A bit of relative calm and then we'll work steadily towards bringing another group of Palestinian kids on the journey of their lives (so far) and reach young people in schools and youth clubs across the north and Midlands...Look out for opportunities to meet them! Watch this space 😊
