If you know a Christmas apart is on the horizon this year you might well be hiding that moment under a sandcastle whilst making the most of the summer. 🏖️

Although it might seem a little early for the sound of jingle bells and the hard reality of what's to come 💔 please note the advised deadline to ensure parcels arrive by Christmas week is the 30th October! 🎃

As HMS Dragon returns, we’re thinking of every child who has counted sleeps, every partner who has carried the load, and every family who has shown quiet courage throughout deployment.

Our deployment diaries and Mum and Dad Editions were created for moments just like this — helping little ones stay connected, feel proud, and celebrate the bravery in their own home.

Make sure you follow the instructions below from Army Families Federation - AFF to prevent any deployment parcels and pressies being returned to sender!

📩If you are sending parcels to loved ones outside of the UK via Royal Mail with a British Forces Post Office (BFPO) number, there are some things you may need to know before you post.

✅If you send gifts from England, Scotland or Wales, make sure you complete a customs form.
✅ For items posted from Northern Ireland, customs forms are only required for locations outside of the EU (excluding the UK).

You can complete the customs form via the link in our comments or collect one from your local post office and complete it using BLOCK CAPITALS. A few minutes spent completing the form correctly will prevent disappointment with items being returned to the sender.

We had the loveliest day at Mission Motorsport Family Day! 🏁
We met people from every corner of military life: little ones, serving families, veterans, and grown‑up service children who have lived all of the stages. We kept hearing the same words:
“I wish this had been around when I was younger.”
It hurts our hearts for those previous generations who navigated service life without tools like Dande-Lion Diaries. But it also fills us with pride to know that their lived experiences give us a tick of approval — a reminder that what we’re building matters. Now, the support is here. We are here. For today’s Dande‑Lions, the next generation growing up through postings, deployments and big feelings. We’re here to help them build connection, confidence and a gentle way to talk about the tough parts of forces life.
