💚 A Friendly Reminder from Midlands Pet Ambulance CIC Volunteers
We would like to take a moment to remind everyone that Midlands Pet Ambulance CIC and our amazing volunteers are here to help you and your pets, and we always try our very best to provide a caring, professional and compassionate service.
However, abuse of any kind is not tolerated — whether physical, verbal or over the telephone. Our volunteers give their time to help animals and their owners, often in difficult and stressful circumstances, and they deserve to be treated with the same respect that we show to you.
📍 If we tell you that we don't cover your area, please understand that this isn't because we don't want to help. At present, our service covers Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.
🚑 If we cannot reach you immediately, it is because our ambulance and team are already dealing with another pet patient. We will give you an estimated arrival time wherever possible and keep you updated if that changes. We simply cannot be everywhere at once, and the pet we are currently helping may be experiencing a genuine emergency too.
💷 Please remember our prices
🐾 Daytime Pet Taxi: £25–£35
🚨 Out-of-Hours Emergency Veterinary Ambulance: £70–£90
These prices cover considerably more than simply driving from A to B.
A typical call-out can involve:
• 🚑 30–60 minutes travelling to you
• 🏠 Around 15 minutes at your home
• 🏥 Approximately 30 minutes travelling to the vets
• ⏱️ Up to 45 minutes waiting at the vets before the return journey
• 🧽 Around 15 minutes cleaning and disinfecting the ambulance and cages afterwards
An average call-out can therefore take around 3½ hours of our team's time.
Please do not refuse to pay the agreed fare or offer only half of the payment. Our prices are already heavily subsidised because of the way we operate.
💚 We are volunteer-led and not-for-profit.
If we weren't run by volunteers and had to pay wages for the time involved, we estimate that the cheapest we could offer our services would be approximately:
£90 daytime
£200 out of hours, remember out of hours emergencies involve further travel to an Emergency Vets thats open, often added costs such as vet wrap (bandages), oxygen and disposable masks, use of stretchers and lifting equipment and higher diesel costs.
That's a massive difference — and one that helps make our service accessible to the people and pets who need us.
🐾 We rely on your support too!
Midlands Pet Ambulance CIC relies on donations and fundraising to keep our ambulances operational and our service running.
There are so many ways you can help, and every single one makes a difference, whether it's:
🪙 Putting your loose change into one of our collection tins
🎟️ Having a go on our tombola when you see us at an event
💚 Donating to one of our fundraising campaigns
🏢 Speaking to your employer about becoming a corporate sponsor
🐾 Asking your local shop, business or office to host one of our collection tins
🎉 Organising a sponsored event for us — we'll support you wherever we can!
📢 Sharing our fundraising campaigns with your friends, family and social media followers
♿ Help us make veterinary care more accessible
One of our current campaigns is to purchase a used wheelchair-accessible vehicle, allowing pet owners with disabilities or mobility difficulties to travel with their pets when they need veterinary treatment.
At present, we can transport the pets, but we want to be able to do more and give their owners the ability to travel alongside them.
💚 If you can spare even a few pounds, it could help us get one step closer to making this possible.

Every pound, every collection tin, every tombola ticket, every fundraiser and every share helps us keep helping pets. 🐶🐱🐰🐹🦜
We understand that veterinary emergencies can be frightening, stressful and expensive. We are on your side. ❤️
All we ask in return is that our volunteers are treated with kindness and respect, agreed fares are paid in full, and you understand that sometimes we simply cannot be everywhere at once.
Thank you for supporting Midlands Pet Ambulance CIC, our volunteers and, most importantly, the pets we are all here to help. 🐾💚🚑
