With over 100 crocodiles, alligators and caimans from 18 species of crocodilian we've one of the widest collections in the world. Shaun Foggett founded crocodiles of the World in 2011. Shaun’s passion for crocodiles led him to found the UK’s first and only crocodile zoo. Crocodiles of the World’s mission is to study, celebrate and protect the diversity of crocodiles and their habitats. Set within

the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, Crocodiles of the World is an experience unlike any other. Nowhere else but here will you have the opportunity to see such a wide collection of crocodiles, alligators and caimans - more than 100 animals from 14 different species of crocodilian. A new experience for our visitors, Crocodiles of the World recently moved into a new home near Brize Norton approximately 3.4 miles from Burford. Today, the zoo has undergone a dramatic transformation that includes new exhibits designed to mimic the crocodiles’ natural habitat, enhanced facilities for visitors, and even more contributions to environmental and wildlife education, research, and conservation. Our new address is Burford Road, Brize Norton, Oxfordshire OX18 3NX. We're easy to get to and there's free parking at the main entrance. From 14 February 2014, Crocodiles of the World is now open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm all year round including Bank Holidays; we are closed on Christmas Day. Tickets are available to book online or may be purchased on arrival. Last entrance to the zoo is one hour before closing. Crocodiles of the World offer a range of events, from educational guided tours to birthday parties for all ages. Our keeper for a day experiences give you the chance to spend half a day behind the scenes with our keepers as they care for, train and feed the crocodiles. Crocodiles of the World has been the subject of television programmes in the past. Discovery Channel UK and Channel 5 broadcast a three-part documentary, Croc Man, in 2011.

Just a Cuban crocodile enjoying a quiet swim. 🐊

No dramatic hunt, no sudden movements—just a beautiful example of how perfectly these animals are built for life in the water. Sometimes the simplest moments are the most fascinating.

🌿 What a fantastic BioBlitz weekend! 🦎

We were delighted to team up with West Oxfordshire District Council, Thames Valley Environmental Records Centre, and Wild Oxfordshire for two days of wildlife discovery at North Leigh Common.

The reptiles were out in force on Friday, giving participants some brilliant sightings, while Saturday’s warmer weather brought a great turnout for the guided walks and talks.

Across the event, an impressive 147 species were recorded, highlighting just how much wildlife calls this special place home.

Beyond the species count, it was wonderful to collaborate with so many passionate organisations and members of the local community.

Events like this are a great reminder of how rewarding it can be to slow down, connect with nature, and discover the incredible wildlife on our doorstep.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the BioBlitz such a success! 💚

Because of their bright colours and prehistoric appearance, northern caiman lizards are sometimes described as looking like a cross between a dragon and a crocodile! 🐉

Their powerful shell-crushing bite is an example of specialised evolution! Their teeth and jaw muscles have adapted specifically to exploit a food source that many other reptiles struggle to eat.

They're a fantastic example of how reptiles can evolve to fill very specific ecological niches in tropical wetlands 💚🦎

Some days are for adventure. Some days are for doing absolutely nothing 🐊

This croc looks completely relaxed, but don't let that fool you! Beneath those armoured scales is one of nature's most efficient predators 😎

Did you know that proportionately squirrel monkeys have the largest brain mass to body mass ratio of any primate? 🐒

The human brain-to-body ratio is roughly 1:35 to 1:40, and these tiny monkeys have twice the relative brain mass, at 1:17 🤯

Clever little monkeys 🧠

Sometimes when our crocodilians look at me...I feel a little judged 😅 👀
