All Royal Air Force Falcons Parachute Display Team Members are drawn from the personnel of Airborne Delivery Wing, based at RAF Brize Norton. All Parachute Jumping Instructors start their careers at the Parachute Training Squadron (PTS) delivering static line courses.

The RAF is responsible for training and supporting all UK Airborne Forces. As well as providing a distinctive demonstration of freefall and canopy skills during the display season, each Falcons Team member undertakes continual advanced training as PJIs during their three years on the team, in preparation for future employment in support of the Parachute Regiment, the Royal Marines and other specialist units.

PJIs that achieve the coveted Military Freefall Instructor competency (MFFI) are eligible for employment at MAB Delivery Sqn (MDS), which provides support to both training and front-line operational delivery of specialised UK military personnel.

During an MDS tour, PJIs will also undertake High-Altitude Instructor (HAI) and Tandem Master Instructor (TMI) qualifications, along with a plethora of survival & evasion courses, which will allow them to operate at high altitude, and across all areas of the globe, in support of UK National Standby parachuting capability. As seen recently in Tristan da Cunha.
