So I came across this post this morning from a future candidate of the LD party...
Ben has filmed the first part of this video in Carterton Town Hall, which makes me feel uneasy that this means our dear Mr Epps has future plans of his "quiet lanes" idea onto Carterton??

Please do have a watch and feedback back your comments on the link. You will see my comments already on the original post.
My point is they say they will work with local Councils?? However how many times have they ignored the consultation of the public? For example in Carterton the Town Council and residents all spoke out saying we did not want the ANPR Cameras and yet it is still coming!
So why would they listen to us if we said we don't want this idea imposed on us? You need to realise they don't listen and will do as they please regardless...while spending public money too.

Mr Epps is now the man responsible for our roads and all transport matters and as someone who knows him personally, he has got some serious work to do to make up for the failings of his predecessor. Tbh I have no faith it will improve if these are the ideas coming forward when the first jobs of roads doesn't seem to be the priority.

And here it is ... the post I shared this morning straight from OCC!
The quiet lane plan is now in full swing and doesn't consider how everyday people use cars or just everyone else that uses transport to bring food to our shops or caseworkers for example, the list is endless why we use vehicles and yet we need quiet cars? I dont see how this was consulted with the public.

Well I hope the cyclists enjoy potholes, because this waste of money project could actually repair the roads they plan on enjoying quietly or are they only using are road/ vechicle tax to build cycle lanes now?

Safer, quieter roads are coming to Oxfordshire. A new quiet lanes pilot programme has been approved to make it safer and more pleasant for people to walk, wheel, cycle, and ride horses on some minor roads.

Quiet lanes are designed to:

โœ… Reduce through traffic
โœ… Lower vehicle speeds
โœ… Create calmer, safer spaces for communities

Access will still be maintained for residents, farms, businesses, and emergency services.

New quiet lanes will include measures like traffic restrictions, signage and lower (typically 20mph) speed limits. They will only be introduced where there is strong local support including from parish councils and local councillors. Suitable alternative routes for drivers must be available.

Weโ€™ll now be working with parish and town councils and local councillors to identify potential locations for pilot schemes, which will be tested before any permanent decisions are made.

I had to share this post, so thank you Liam for sharing as a County Councillor what is going on!

County Councils new scheme is just now the icing to the cakes of bonkers decisions already made...what is going on at OCC!???
Sadly elections aren't until next year and will be very hard to undo all these plans once in motion, but something needs to be done.

I already mentioned that we have a number of expansive housing developments on our way to attach themselves to Carterton and how no road structure is being thought of and how it will be pushed through Carterton and then you now make roads more cycle and walking friendly, than driver friendly?? You know the pwople who pay to drive on roads with this thing called road tax?!

This is just crazy. Whether OCC like it or not people are going to drive cars and pay to do so through the nose, we also have this thing called RAF Brize where the military vehicles need access to transporting around the Country so now were going to restrict the base and residents while building another terminal!??? I cannot understand it at all.

What is going on and please consider your choice in party at the next election because this is going from bad to worse to utter disaster!!!!๐Ÿคฏ

๐Ÿคฏ Just when you think Oxfordshire County Council have finally run out of ways to inconvenience motoristsโ€ฆ they surprise us again.

The latest bright idea appears to be restricting vehicles between Brize Norton and Curbridge. Because clearly, with huge housing developments going up around Brize Norton and Carterton, the biggest problem we face is apparently too many usable roads! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

โœ”๏ธ Thousands of extra homes?
โœ”๏ธ More traffic?
โœ”๏ธ Growing pressure on local infrastructure?

No problem letโ€™s just close routes off instead of improving them.

Residents donโ€™t want gimmicks and anti-car experiments. They want sensible infrastructure that keeps our towns and villages better connected and traffic moving. If the council is determined to build at this pace, then roads need upgrading, not restricting.

It sometimes feels like County Hall sits around asking: โ€œHow can we make the school run, commute, and daily life just that little bit harder?โ€

Mission accomplished! ๐Ÿฅ‚

I follow this guy and felt I would share...He has really exposed a lot about the scary homeless scams which operate in London and I would imagine spreads to other areas. I know Leicester has scams like this as my friend has repeatedly exposed these people. Please be careful when in the city's and be vigilant.
