🚨Scrap and Waste Recycling Fires are on the increase🚨

In the space of roughly a week, three waste recycling centres in Wales have suffered large fire related incidents. These types of incidents can lead to risk to life, the use of a huge anount of resources from the Local Authority Fire Service and a loss of income from the recycling centres.

At JM Fire & Rescue, we can supply Firefighters, suitable fire vehicles and even additional water supply tanks. We can not only reduce the chance of a fire starting but with us being on site, we can deal with an incident without delay. This reduces the risk of spread and removes the delay in waiting for the Local Authority FRS to arrive on scene.
We should point out, we are not there to replace them, we are there to reduce the risk of a fire starting, spreading, to do wet downs to cool hot spots, and if need be fight a fire untill the FRS arrive on scene. We will then take instructions from their Incident Commander and assist them , with dealing with the incident.

We get asked all the time why would we need a private fire service, we have a fire station nearby. The answer is simple, they cannot stay on your site and patrol or montior it. They are busy dealing with incidents everyday, they cannot be in several places at once. An incident can start with a small fire, which without rapid intervention can lead to a much larger fire quickly. By having us on site, we are then dedicated to any incident on your site without delay.

We take all our fire cover duties seriously.
We work with ex Local Authority Fire Service Incident Commanders to ensure everything is done safely and correctly.

Do you operate a metal recycling center?

Fire-related incidents can cause an average loss of up to £657,000 in direct damage and lost revenue. JM Fire and Rescue can help mitigate these risks by providing on-site safety checks using thermal imaging cameras, cooling hot spots, and monitoring your site for potential hazards.

Should a fire occur, we provide an immediate response while ensuring the Local Authority Fire Service is notified without delay. We will continue to combat the fire until they arrive, at which point we will work under the command of their officer in charge. Additionally, we can supply large water tanks to provide necessary water supplies during an incident.

We recommend speaking with your insurance provider, as they may offer a premium discount if you utilise our professional fire cover services.

We can provide as little as two Firefighters and a 4x4 fire appliance with bowser up to multiple firefighters and vehicles.
