Can you help the Hammonds Pond Miniature Railway?
Our annual running costs, just for electricity and public liability insurance, are in excess of £5000, with additional costs for the maintenance of the track and buildings. The reserves of the society have been depleted due to the long period when we were unable to run during the COVID19 pandemic. We are now up and running again and are looking to raise additional funds.


All donations, however small, are very gratefully received and all monies raised go directly to maintain the railway and help keep it running for future generations!

Welcome to Hammonds Pond Miniature Railway in Carlisle. The miniature railway is operated by Carlisle & District Model Engineering Society and is open to the public on Sundays and special events between April and October from 1:00PM to 3:00PM, when members of the public can take a ride behind one of our model trains for a modest fee. All moneys raised go directly to the running and upkeep of the model railway.

The miniature railway has been operating with its current layout since 1946 and is run and maintained entirely by members of the society and volunteers.
