Here's a map showing the proposed Carlisle Business Improvement District (BID) levy boundary.

Within this area ALL non-domestic rated properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or more have a vote, and ALL will pay the BID tax for the next 5 years if it is a yes outcome.

It is a mandatory scheme, not voluntary, and even if you don't vote you will still pay if you are one of the liable properties and the BID scheme is voted in.

So it's important that ALL affected businesses read the BID manifesto, look out for their ballot papers which have now landed, and above all vote!

Fire & Security Service Engineer Vacancy

Job description

Due to continued growth we are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Engineer's to join our team. This is a brilliant opportunity for the right person to come and be part of a growing business within Cumbria.

Primarily the role will be Service based with installation work also being a requirement. The candidate would carry out scheduled maintenance visits and reactive call outs for our customer database. The role would also include providing telephone assistance to customers when required. Assistance to the installation team will also be required.

The ideal person will have a good understanding of PD6662 & EN50131 as well as BS5839.

The ideal person would have the following qualities:

25 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holiday

Call out allowance £135 per week (one week in 4) Call outs paid in addition to allowance.

Salary negotiable for the right person with experience.
Door to door travel paid.
Company Van provided.
Mobile phone provided.
Main work within Cumbria.
40 hour working week (site hours excluding paid travel)
Overtime available.
Company pension scheme.
