Huge congratulations to our gymnasts who competed in the English Schools National Gymnastics Final in Stoke today!

Competing in the Under 9 category against 11 teams from across the country, they performed Floor, Vault and Pairs routines with confidence and determination. We are incredibly proud of all their hard work and dedication leading up to the event.

A special thank you to Kimberly for all her hard work, and to the parents and families for their support throughout the day. We hope this is a memory to cherish for years to come!

Rowan Class were privileged to be invited to watch 'Fisherman's Tale' by Forefront Theatre Company at Elim Community Church last Friday. The show was all about the life and miracles of Jesus told from the perspective of his fishermen friends - the disciples. The life ring acted as perfect representation of Jesus as the disciples (the fishermen) told the story of the life and miracles of Jesus from their perspective.

Rowan Class enjoyed getting together with the year 6s from Rockcliffe and Blackford this morning.

The 3 classes took part in activities about moving up to secondary school and enjoyed a picnic together. Rachel from NISCU, as well as Ruth and Steve from Network Youth talked to us about Daniel from the Bible and the many changes he had to face and what he did to help himself with those changes. Some of the things he did to help himself were: Stay positive, talk to his friends, pray, be respectful to his new leader and stay close to God. Our children discussed the changes they are facing and the worries they have. They found out that lots of people felt the same as them. Rachel also gave ideas on how to look after our minds and our bodies - which often helps us in times of worry and change. The children also celebrated how they are all unique and they got to make a special keyring to help them remember this!

Year 4 have had a brilliant afternoon experiencing Greek cuisine! 🇬🇷

A massive thank you to Theo and Matina for sharing their knowledge, time and delicious food with us. The children loved learning about Greek culture and had a wonderful opportunity to taste a variety of traditional dishes.

The menu included Greek salad, tzatziki, keftedakia, oven-baked potato wedges and koulourakia (Greek biscuits) – all of which were thoroughly enjoyed by the children… and the staff too! 😋

Thank you again, Theo and Matina, for such a memorable and enjoyable experience for our Year 4 pupils.

Our fabulous worship leaders did a fantastic job of leading the first 'Courage' Reflect & Respond Class Worship on Thursday. We watched the story of David and Goliath and discussed how David didn't focus on the size and strength of the giant, but on the mightiness of God and the skills he himself had as a shepherd.

We reflected on some of the giants we have in our own lives and what we can do to help us have courage to tackle those giants. Ash Class and Willow class enjoyed acting out the story with wonderful props lent to us from Esther from NISCU. Thank you Esther!

As part of our Amazing Animals topic, Ash Class enjoyed a visit from Claire’s Cool Creatures. The children met a variety of animals, including a snake, frog, hedgehog, gecko and guinea pigs. They learnt interesting facts about the animals and showed great bravery, curiosity and care while handling them. It was a wonderful experience that brought our learning to life.

Today our Reception children had a fantastic time welcoming Jonathan from AP Smile Stars into school to learn about supervised toothbrushing!
The children had so much fun while learning how to keep their teeth clean and healthy. 🦷

We enjoyed brushing our teeth to the 2 minute teeth song!

Beech class have had a wonderful day at Beacon Museum in Whitehaven. We experienced a Victorian day at the seaside, learned about the local area and enjoyed the interactive museum while viewing the harbour and coastline. Our host said that Beech class were wonderfully enthusiastic and great ambassadors for the school.
