I have been avoiding making this post for months now. We are relatively private people. This spring, we received some news that has turned our world upside down. My dear pig whisperer husband was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 3b non small cell lung cancer. His treatments are in full swing (weekly chemo and daily radiation) and we are super optimistic that he will recover. The reason I wanted to post is because normally by now, piglets are bouncing all over our farm. We had to take a break this season and prioritize the health and treatment plan for the pig whisperer. Send good healing vibes and know that we will resume as early as Fall 2026. Until then, please enjoy some cute photos of the norltorious pig whisperer in action! Thank you all for your understanding. We will be back in action as soon as this process allows. 🥰

The ch8ckens all know that its time to arrive when the piggies are being fed. 🤣🤣🤣 The ground has been absolutely saturated this spring. The pigs love it, us humans not so much.

Hello VVM family and friends. A piggy parent has contacted me in need of some help to rehome 2 sweet girls. Letty and Lassy are 2 year old mini Kuninis. It is house hippo season as you can see and they are in the middle of spring coat blowing. They are looking for a forever pet home to spend their days. Their mama tells me that they are somewhat shy but friendly. She has had good luck winning them over with snacks and patience. If you can open your barn or pasture please reach out. These girls are bonded and should stay together. I will give you contact info for their mama. The girls are located near Middleburgh NY. No rehoming fees for the right person. It is important to find the best home as every piggy deserves that! 🥰🐷🐷

These were our first 2026 babies. We will be seeking a good pet home for the red boy in the back. He will likely be about 150lbs when fully grown, but has some interesting genetics. His mother is one of our mini Kuninis and his father is a mini Mangalitsa. So, your guess is about as good as mine. These two are very much favoring their mini roots but we will see. Shown here at about two weeks of age. The white spotted female has a home as of now. Please reach out with any questions. They will be ready at the end of April. Pkease excuse our mud. It goes without saying that during the late winter and early spring, we specialize in mud farming as well as pigs. 🤣 Believe me when I tell you thise babies will be hearty and well rounded.

Wepl what a way to start out the season! Very small litter, from a very small mama. CJ, a 2 year old gilt delivered a nice little batch of minis sometime during the day yesterday completely unbeknownst to me. I didn't find them until evening chore rounds. She is a first time mama and is doing wonderful with her babies! She is one of our 4th gen mini kuninis, and her babies will be a little different as the boar is a mini/mangalitsa cross. She has lots of help babysitting from Roxanne and Pwtinia our extremely experienced retired sows. I can't wait to watch these kids grow and see what they will favor.

“Teacup pigs” are not a breed. In the early 2000s, breeders began advertising “teacup,” “micro,” or “mini” pigs that would stay 10–30 pounds forever. Cute photos of tiny piglets in coffee mugs? Irresistible. Add in celebrity hype and social media, and suddenly everyone thought they could have a forever-baby pig in their apartment. The truth is they’re usually baby potbellies being marketed as forever tiny. Most healthy potbellied pigs grow to 80–200+ pounds and continue growing for up to 5 years.

There’s no magical 20-pound adult pig. When pigs are underfed to stay small or sold before they’re properly weaned, it often leads to health issues and later, heartbreaking rehoming situations.

If someone is promising you a “teacup,” what they’re really selling is a myth.

And pigs deserve better than a marketing term. ♥️

This cold is gonna be something. Not to mention we are looking at around 2 feet of snow. Yay! Be safe everyone. If you've got outdoor animals please make sure they can get out of the storm with plenty of bedding. We have done our best to prep. Hopefully everything goes as planned. 🥰
