Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at fynychu cynhadledd Cymdeithas Ryngwladol Comisiynwyr Iaith (IALC) yn Iwerddon yr wythnos hon.

Wrth i ni baratoi i ddod ynghyd unwaith eto i drafod hawliau ieithyddol, rhannu arferion da a chryfhau cydweithio rhyngwladol, dyma gipolwg yn ôl ar gynhadledd lwyddiannus y llynedd yng Nghaerdydd.

Edrychwn ymlaen at ailgysylltu â chydweithwyr o bob cwr o'r byd a pharhau â'r sgyrsiau pwysig sy'n cefnogi ac yn hyrwyddo cymunedau ieithyddol ledled y byd.

We’re looking forward to attending the International Association of Language Commissioners conference in Ireland this week.

As we prepare to come together once again to discuss language rights, share best practice and strengthen international collaboration, here’s a look back at the last conference in Cardiff.

We look forward to reconnecting with colleagues from around the world and continuing the important conversations that support and promote language rights and linguistic communities internationally.

Historical forms of the name show that it’s ‘twr’ as in ‘pentwr’ - referring to the pile of bare rocks rising above Holyhead.

Where does the name Trefdraeth come from?
The words 'tref' and 'traeth' give us a big clue to the meaning of the name - a town by the beach. But there’s more to the story of Trefdraeth than that. The name dates back to the Middle Ages.

❤️Where does the name 'Llanddwyn' come from? 'Llan' refers to a parish or church, and here there was a church dedicated to Dwynwen, the patron saint of Welsh lovers.
The name is older than the ruins that stand here today - and it's likely that some kind of place of worship for Dwynwen stood here before this church.
