The answer to yesterday's Mystery Monday was... Dylan Thomas! 📚

One of Wales' most celebrated writers, Dylan Thomas spent the final years of his life in Laugharne, where the town's beautiful estuary and the historic Laugharne Castle became a source of inspiration for his writing.

His iconic writing shed, overlooking the Taf Estuary, is just a short walk from the castle and remains a place of literary pilgrimage today.

1917 - Yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Penbedw, dyfarnwyd y Gadair Farddol i'r bardd Hedd Wyn. Pan alwyd ei enw, doedd dim ateb. Roedd Hedd Wyn wedi cael ei ladd ychydig wythnosau ynghynt ym Mrwydr Passchendaele. Gorchuddiwyd y gadair â lliain du a daeth yn adnabyddus fel Y Gadair Ddu, symbol pwerus o effaith rhyfel ar Gymru.

1917 - At the National Eisteddfod in Birkenhead, the Bard's Chair was awarded to the poet Hedd Wyn. When his name was called, there was no reply. Hedd Wyn had been killed just weeks earlier at Passchendaele. The chair was draped in black and became known as Y Gadair Ddu (The Black Chair), a powerful symbol of the impact of war on Wales.

Cynhaliwyd gŵyl Pride Cymru gyntaf yng Nghaerdydd ar 4 Medi 1999, gyda mwy na 2000 o bobl yn bresennol. Mae'r digwyddiad bellach yn denu 50000 o bobl yn rheolaidd dros dridiau Penwythnos Mawr Pride Cymru.

The first Pride Cymru festival was held in Cardiff on 4 September 1999, with more than 2000 people in attendance. The event now regularly attracts 50000 people over the three days of the Pride Cymru Big Weekend.

O eglwysi plwyf tawel i dirnodau hanesyddol rhyfeddol, mae'r lleoedd arbennig hyn yn cynnig cipolwg unigryw ar orffennol crefyddol Cymru.
