Ex SPRING STORM

Soldiers from the 1 R WELSH Battlegroup have been put through their paces during Exercise SPRING STORM, testing their ability to fight and win in a demanding, high-tempo battlespace.

Operating alongside the Royal Artillery, the Royal Tank Regiment, Royal Engineers and medics, troops sharpened their skills in combined arms manoeuvre, integrating firepower, armour, and engineering effects to achieve mission success.

The exercise culminated in force-on-force training against a Battlegroup from The Royal Regiment of Scotland, providing a realistic and challenging adversary that pushed soldiers and commanders alike to adapt, innovate, and overcome.

Training like this ensures the Royal Welsh remains ready to deploy, fight, and succeed wherever required.

Mae milwyr y Royal Welsh wedi cael eu rhoi ar brawf yn ystod Ymarfer SPRING STORM, gan brofi eu gallu i ymladd a llwyddo mewn maes brwydro heriol a chyflym.

Gan weithredu ochr yn ochr â chefnogaeth werthfawr gan 19 Regiment Royal Artillery, y Royal Tank Regiment, a’r Royal Engineers, fe wnaeth y milwyr fireinio eu sgiliau mewn symudiadau arfau cyfun, gan integreiddio grym tân, arfwisg a gallu peirianyddol i sicrhau llwyddiant y genhadaeth.

It started at MPCT Cardiff 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

A huge congratulations to former learner Fusilier Perington, who has successfully passed out from Infantry Training Centre Catterick and is now joining The Royal Welsh.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Speaking to staff, he said:

“It all began at MPCT Cardiff. I couldn’t have completed my training without the guidance, support, and preparation provided by the staff.”

We are incredibly proud to have been part of his journey and to see him achieve this milestone. His dedication, resilience, and hard work have paid off, and this is only the beginning.

Targets up.

Back in the UK, Flash Company have deployed to Castlemartin Ranges to conduct their annual gunnery camp. During this range package they will complete the full progression, including qualifying new gunners and the Annual Crew Test. The culmination of the live-firing is the integration of dismounted Sections allowing us to replicate the close-assault of enemy positions.
