Bittersweet Farewells!
Today we celebrate the 18th birthday of our Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major, Dylan Morgans. This day is a time for celebrations and the rites of passage as a young person steps out officially into the adult world. However, it is also tinged with sadness as their cadet career comes to an end and we gently send them on their way to explore pastures new, hoping that the skills, experiences and opportunities from their time with us will support them in whichever path they choose.
Dylan joined the ACF in 2022, and has grown into a confident, mature and well balanced young man who has led with courage, pride and determination. He thrives on challenge and his personable nature has made him a firm favourite with the junior cadets: approachable yet firm - a true role model and someone to aspire to. He regularly talks of the impact that cadets has had on his life and himself as a person, and particularly his growth in confidence in public speaking and knowing how to present himself in different situations with many high profile people.
From that very first basic pass to achieving Master Cadet, and of course his successes on Champion Cadet earlier this year, Dylan has demonstrated the values and standards of the ACF and leaves very large shoes to fill, although we know there are several cadets waiting for the opportunity to take on this challenging leadership role.
Dylan, we wish you every success in wherever life’s pathway takes you: thank you for everything that you have given to Gwent & Powys, for your dedication, loyalty and enthusiasm. We have no doubt that you have a fantastic future ahead of you. Take with you the knowledge that we are always here, and use the skills that you have learnt: you will always be a part of the G&P family.
