Here at Cardiff Hubs and Libraries we've been extremely fortunate to recently start the first BeyondWords Book Club in Wales. This book club uses colourful wordless books that allow everyone to join in, creating their own stories from the pictures they see.

It’s warm, relaxed, and full of those small moments where you can see confidence growing and connections being made. It’s great to see everyone feeling included and to help create an accessible space for all.

Thank you to the kind people at Cardiff People First for having us, and as usual we'll see you back there on the first Tuesday of the month.

There's still time to finish the Summer Reading Challenge! 📚

Children have until Saturday 12th September to complete the challenge and collect their prizes. They can visit any hub or library across the city to log their books and receive their rewards. 🏅🙂

The Academy of Barmy Composers is open! On 28th August at Central Library Hub, join author and opera singer Max Llewelyn Evans to time-travel back to the worlds of Bilious Beethoven And Riotous Rossini. Perfect for kids aged 5-11 who love music and adventure, but great for the whole family!

Booking info: Event spaces are limited, and must be booked in advance. All bookings must be made by email to [email protected]. When booking a place, please provide the child’s name, age, and library card number.
Booking for each event will open at 9am on the Friday before the event (tomorrow!). In order to take part in any bookable events, children must be signed up to the Summer Reading Challenge.

Our Sikhs in Wales exhibition had a wonderful launch event last month with Dhol (drums), traditional sweets and more. Thank you to our event partners for all their hard work and contributions!

The exhibition continues at Central Library Hub until 17th September. Pop in at any time to explore heritage, culture and the making of a community.
