✈️ Kent Wing Aviation Camp 2026 ✈️

Three cadets from 312 Squadron - Sgt Taylor, Cdt Hornsey and Cdt Jennings - recently joined cadets from across Kent Wing for an unforgettable week exploring the world of military and civilian aviation.

The camp provided a huge variety of unique opportunities, from visiting the ATC tower and 3FTS at RAF Cranwell, meeting pilots in training and experiencing flight simulators, to getting up close with the F-35B at RAF Marham and learning about the aircraft and its capabilities.

A highlight for many was Bomber Day, which included visits to the International Bomber Command Centre and the last flying Vulcan, XH558, at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, before seeing a Lancaster bomber taxi at East Kirkby.

The final full day took the cadets to RAF Coningsby, where they received an exclusive tour of the BBMF hangar and visited 41 Test and Evaluation Squadron, getting an incredible insight into the Typhoon and the people who operate and maintain it. The day ended with the chance to watch Typhoons launch and conduct circuits from the station tower, an opportunity only available to a select few cadets.

Across the week, all three 312 cadets gained different experiences, made valuable connections and came away with a greater understanding of the many careers and opportunities within aviation.

A huge thank you to TunbTunbridge Wells Air Cadets - 129 Sqn organising and running such an outstanding camp, and to everyone across the RAF and aviation community who gave their time to make it possible.

A huge congratulations to CWO Slowe who has just been promoted to Cadet Warrant Officer during the National Air & Space Camp Industry Day 2026 at RAF Syerston!

Since joining 312 in 2023, CWO Slowe has enjoyed an outstanding career within the RAF Air Cadets, developing his skills, taking on responsibility and demonstrating the leadership and commitment expected of a cadet in this esteemed position.

His promotion was made even more special by taking place beneath the Red Arrows, alongside Commandment Air Cadets, Commandant Air Cadets, our Sqn OC and other distinguished guests at this year’s Industry Day.

Everyone at 312 Squadron is incredibly proud of what CWO Slowe has achieved so far, and we look forward to seeing where his RAFAC journey takes him next.

Congratulations, CWO Slowe 👏

On Saturday, 312 (City of Canterbury) Sqn had the privilege of hosting Kent Wing’s 2026 Competition day at Leros Barracks. We saw an attendance of over 150 cadets from 14 different squadrons across the wing, competing in various categories such as:

- Archery
- First Aid
- Aircraft Recognition
- Aircraft Modelling
- Drill (Various types)
- Music (incl. band, ensemble, drum solo, fanfare, percussion and more)

Winners in each category will go on to represent Kent Wing in the regional competition later this year.

Cadets also had the opportunity to use flight sims and learn more about aviation on the blue wings aviation course throughout the day, with over 15 badges and 30 ground elements awarded, thanks to our local AGS staff.

The day was huge fun for all involved and congratulations to all of those who competed, and those who won any awards. We look forward to seeing your progress in the LaSER competition.

Catching up on posts after a busy period at 312, we thought we’d share that recently our cadets took part in a friendly archery competition, with skills ranging from no experience to hundreds of arrows fired! We saw improvements from all our cadets throughout the night, leading to a successful evening.

Congratulations to team Alpha for winning the competition.

Behind the scenes our cadets have been up to some amazing opportunities already in 2026. This stretches from the new blue space syllabus to road marching, a bomb disposal visit from the army, radio & cyber even flying scholarships!

We’re also preparing for the most activity-filled summer ever, receiving donations of two kayaks to the squadron to go along with our new paddleboards, and investment into new exciting equipment for the drone syllabus… more information to follow.

We’ve also updated our branding social media wide, so take a peek around and follow our socials for regular updates on our squadron.

We've been quiet on our socials recently, but that does not mean we've had our feet up!!

We had such a day at Kent Wing Athletics last weekend!

Our team of just 8 cadets brought home an incredible 10 podium finishes — including 4 Gold, 5 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal.

Every cadet gave it everything on the track and in the field, showing determination, teamwork, and true RAFAC spirit.

We couldn’t be prouder of how you represented the squadron and yourselves.

Outstanding effort, team — you’ve done 312 proud.
