All good things come to an end eventually:

After a long and successful run, we’ve made the difficult decision to end the free LED light bulb replacement service – also known as ‘Daffodil’ – from 31 March 2021.
Why are we switching it off?
As more and more UK households have LED light bulbs installed, the demand goes down. And the number of households that now have LED bulbs has gone from under 20% when we launched this offer 5 years ago, to over 75%.

So, our fitters have been increasingly finding that most bulbs in our customers’ homes are already LEDs.

Ending on a high note
You’ve helped install over 5 million LED light bulbs for free in over 150,000 homes across the UK over the last 5 years.

In this time, about 46 thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide has been saved as a result, as well as a huge combined saving of £31m for our customers on their electricity bills. And as long as they continue to use LED bulbs, they’ll continue to save for years to come.

After 31 March 2021, although we won’t be continuing the offer to new customers, we’ll continue to honour the lifetime replacement service for those who’ve already opted into it.

Our other green offerings
Remember, we help the environment in many other ways, as well as help customers do their bit. For example a 100% renewable electricity tariff, free smart meter installation, and we plant a tree for every new customer who takes all their home services through us. Find out more on our website here.

So don’t forget to mention all of these at your next appointment, as well as giving your contacts the chance to take up our free light bulb offer before March next year. Remember, the appointment presentation has a handy slide so you can show potential customers exactly what we do as one of the UK’s greenest energy suppliers.

What does this mean for you? It means you still get free lightbulbs for life. It also means you have a fantastic, but time-sensitive window to help me introduce your friends and family to this amazing offer. Next time you see anyone with those curly low-energy bulbs, please tell them what a bonus it is to have free LEDs for life, ask them if they'd like to find out how and then tell them you'll get me to call them to make a convenient time to show them what I showed you. Just message me their name and number and Bob's your uncle. Simple as that. Any successful signups will result in a £50 UW credit popping into your bank as a thankyou. Not bad huh?

What's the CashBack Wizard? The easiest way to earn CashBack is to download our CashBack Wizard on their laptop or desktop PC (you can't download it on your tablet just yet). Once they have downloaded, every time they visit a website that's one of our CashBack partners, we'll notify them with the PIG about the amount of cash back. They will only have to click on the message to get the CashBack. On 2000 on line suppliers. It even tells them if this supplier is NOT cash back partner. It also tells them what the cash back is if they use their cash back CARD or use a master card or others
and if some one like Argos extra cash back for buying on line and pick up in store or have it delivered

Our Bill Protector policy provides temporary cover for payment of Members’ utility bills if they’re unable to work through no fault of their own, or as a result of accidental death.
As you know, we paused new sign-ups for Bill Protector due to the recent coronavirus situation. Members who are already signed up to it continue to be protected.

However, the insurer that underwrites the cover has now had to increase their pricing due to the current economic uncertainty. This means that the cost of their cover will increase by £1.50 per month from 1 September 2020. This charge will appear on their August bill as Bill Protector is billed in advance.

So, we’re letting our Members know about this change. If they’re on the £2 per month plan, they’ll pay £3.50 per month. And those on the £3 per month plan will pay £4.50 per month. The other price plans are not affected.

Our policy is still very competitive, with other providers charging as much as 10 times the price of our cover before the coronavirus situation began.

Remember – although Bill Protector isn’t available to new Members at the moment, we still have other fantastic insurance offerings. Don’t forget our award-winning insurance services like Home Insurance and Boiler & Home Cover.

The UW bills all came out last week, so you've had time to look at them. If financial limitations mean that you might not be able to meet the DD at the end of the week, please phone in today or tomorrow & ask for it to be put on hold. Way better than putting yourself into hock, or risking a bounced DD.
Worth also checking if you have Bill Protector insurance and whether that can be claimed upon.
