The final touches to our first ever Whiskey 🥃. Single barrel, single malt , aged in a premium first fill X Bourbon barrel from Loretta Kentucky. Brewed with Wild Yeast from St Augustine’s Abbey.

On the week we won Silver in the World Gin Awards. This is us disgorging our very first Whiskey. Yes we are spelling it with an E 😃.
Did you know we were finalists for Beer of Britain 🇬🇧? Good beer brewing makes the best Whiskey 🥃, especially if you use the same high quality English Barley.

Really really proud of myself today. They said it can’t be done or not worth doing. Today my prototype is blowing hot air in the restaurant all from waste energy from our bigger still “Becket”. Whilst distilling . I reckon it will run two more 1/2 meter fans.

Don't you wish you were here?

Wednesdays really are the perfect evening for a quiet, contemplative drink, and there's no where nicer to have one than in our Canterbury Foundry Brewpub .

Experiment with something new or re-visit a firm favourite with our range of Craft Ales, Beers on tap, Nitro taps and craft Ciders. Or you can try our quality grain to glass spirits, all brewed on site.

We also offer a great selection of wines from around the world served by the Glass or bottle.

This time of year we start to build up with preparation for The Kent Green Hop Beer Fortnight. Very apt as it is also when we celebrate St Arnoldus, the patron saint of hop-pickers and Belgian Beer!

Every year we make Jon's favourite beer, Seriously Saison 4.5% . It's a belter!

Jon has always been a fan of Belgian beer. So at Kent hop harvest time Jon brings together two of his favourite things. A beautiful blend of Belgian yeast and fresh hops collected from the local farm before they are dried . We brew with the stunning East Kent Golding hop within an hour of being picked.

We launch with the Kent Green Hop Beer Festival at the Canterbury food and drink festival . This year it'll be on the 23rd, 24th and 25th September.

Jon spend a lovely morning with Susie and AJ chatting all things beer, gin and rum on the FoodTalk podcast.

Lots of interesting facts were shared. Would you have guessed that the no.1, best selling product at The Foundry Brewpub in Canterbury (where all the magic happens) is NOT the ultimate burger , not it's actually the now infamous beer flight. When you visit you'll see one on almost every table being enjoyed by customers young and old from around the world.

Jon also explained the stories behind Canterbury Brewers and Distillers Torpedo Super Strength Gin, Smuggler Sam Spiced Rum and the unique Japanese Jin. The tastings all went down very well, even at 1030 in the morning!

It's WORLD RUM DAY and we couldn't let this pass without telling you the tale of our own Smuggler's Sam Spiced Rum.

Samuel Jackson son of as smuggler. Known as Slippery Sam after overpowering a guard, covering himself in axle grease & slipping through a small window at Maidstone Gaol.

In 1760, after shooting and killing a Revenue officer, Jackson was caught, hung and gibbeted for two days at the age of thirty.

This Spiced Rum is handcrafted here at The Foundry in Canterbury from the highest quality Molasses before being aged on Spanish Oak, Madagascan Vanilla, Spanish orange peel & six world spices.
