From our understanding of the learning disabled and autistic communities we have come to see the advantages of using video resources with our students. Video allows:

- Repetition
- The ability to pause, to catch up or allow time for information to be taken in
- The ability to rewind to revisit missed information.
- The ability to follow or copy an instructor.
- Time to deliver instructions at a slower pace.
- The inclusion of visuals to aid understanding, with the avoidance of sensory overload in mind.
- Accessible using multiple types of devices.


Where possible all our videos are shot in real time, allowing users to follow along and to allow the time for a slower-paced delivery.

Whether out and about, at home or in a day service, our platform can be accessed from a computer or mobile device easily, enabling you to browse and take part in content when it suits you!

What is FTConnect?

Our online learning platform is made for the learning disabled community. The site is packed with fun interactive games, courses, and over 300 videos to help you learn new skills.

FTConnect is designed by The Fifth Trust, a charitable organization with over 30 years’ experience of providing opportunities for the learning-disability community and is nationally recognised as an industry leader.

We make learning enjoyable with bite-sized videos and easy-to-follow instructions. Our friendly instructors are experts, ready to guide you. We’re accessible, safe, and want everyone to feel welcome.

Plus, there are new videos every month, so there’s always something new to watch. It’s all available for just £1.99 a month or free for Fifth Trust students.
