The Heritage Open Days event has arrived!

We are open on Friday 12th, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September 2025 - 10am-5pm - FREE OF CHARGE!

The weather has been very wet and this looks to continue, off and on, over the weekend. Please bring stout footware and waterproofs. The walk to the Camel River is about 500 metres. ( Not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs - sorry).

The Latinus 6th century inscribed memorial stone has been saved from flood risk and is now standing upright once again.

This is the only opportunity to visit our site this year so we hope you can make it.

We look forward to seeing you!

Please note that the tearoom and gift shop are currently closed

Gool Peran Lowen! / Happy St. Piran's Day!

St Piran's Day is celebrated annually on March 5th and is "A celebration of all things Cornish", commemorating the life of St Piran.

"St Piran is one of the three Cornish patron saints, the other two being St Michael the Archangel and St Petroc. St Piran was an Irish Christian who came to Cornwall to spread the word about Christianity. Legend says that he floated across the Celtic Sea on a millstone, arriving at Perranporth on the Cornish coast. The black and white flag of Cornwall is called the St Piran’s Cross and is supposed to show the colours of tin when it is heated or smelted."

Quotations from Cornwall For Ever/Kernow Bys Vyken, a project of ours supported by The and several generous donors.
