We have funded spaces available for Autumn 2020. Call us on 01223 870919 for more information We are situated on the site of Hauxton Primary School in South Cambridgeshire. We have well-established roots in the village of Hauxton with over 30 years experience of providing childcare and early learning. We provide term-time care for children aged 2-4 years Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. We are in receipt of

the Universal (15 hour) of free government funded childcare for some 2 years olds and all 3-4 year olds (terms and conditions apply) and the Extended entitlement (30 hours) for eligible 3-4 year olds. Our fees are currently £5.50 per hour for under 3s and £5 per hour for over 3s. Our purpose-built setting has everything our little learners need, including; constant access to an enclosed outdoor learning space (parallel to the Reception class garden which supports a smooth transition to 'big school'!), a separate messy-play area, a cosy Circle Time area, child-height toilets and sinks, a role-play corner and a large open-plan playroom. We have plenty of toys and resources to support children's learning and development alongside the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and our dedicated and experienced staff provide stimulating and inviting activities to engage little minds. We encourage visits to the Preschool for parents/carers to view the setting, ask questions, discuss their requirements and meet the staff

1:1 Early Years Practitioner
(16.5 hours per week Wednesday-Friday term-time only January 2022 start)

Are you able to quickly count numerous heads whilst they are all moving about?

Can you make anything out of play dough, Lego, boxes etc.?

Can you see the beauty in a scribble?

Are you excellent at giving cuddles on demand?

Are you able to drink numerous cups of pretend tea and eat plate after plate of wild concoctions made in the imagination kitchen?

Are you able to read story after story and recite familiar books without even looking at the words?

Are you able to have numerous pretend conversations on the telephone?

Can you sing a large repertoire of nursery rhymes in front of many small people and some out-of-tune adults?

Can you laugh at jokes you don’t quite understand?

Do you love getting your hands dirty?

Can you tidy-up many small pieces at lightening speed?

-be committed to actively contributing to a culture of safeguarding.
-undertake statutory child protection training if not already obtained.
-have, or be willing to work towards, at least a Level 2 in Early Years.

-pass a statutory DBS check
-have at least two satisfactory references (one must be previous employer)

Job title: Preschool Practitioner (1:1 Support Worker)

Responsible to: Management team

Purpose of the job: Working as a key person and support worker to one child with Autism

Regular working hours: 8:45am-12:15pm Monday to Friday (term-time only) for an immediate start

Contract: Until July 2022

Salary: £8.91-£9.50 per hour

Safeguarding requirement: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting children and young people’s welfare. All staff must share this commitment and follow the prescribed policy and procedures to continuously promote a culture of safeguarding.

Main duties include, but are not limited to:

-Acting as a key person to the child, liaising closely with parents, colleagues and other professionals associated with the child’s care plan, ensuring the child’s individual needs are met.
-Assessing and documenting the child’s learning and development in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and plan suitable activities to extend their learning.
-Commit to a culture of safeguarding every child in attendance. Reporting and documenting any safeguarding concerns.
-Supporting the child with self-care tasks.
-Supporting the child with targets set by professionals working with child.
-To work as a team and participate in team, supervision and appraisal meetings.
-Attend and contribute to TAF meetings.
-Undergo training courses relevant to the role.

Person specification

Essential criteria

-Experience of working in an Early Years setting.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Level 2 Early Years qualification or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of child development from 0-5 years.
-A commitment to promote a culture of safeguarding and equal opportunities.
-A friendly and flexible approach to work and a sense of humour!

Desirable criteria

-Level 3 Early Years qualification
-Child Protection and Safeguarding training (if this is not currently held, such training will be necessary on or before the successful candidate starts),
-12 hour Paediatric First Aid training,
-Experience of working with young children with Special Educational Needs

We've been very busy during the Summer holidays and have had a little revamp! 20 litres of paint and a lot of elbow grease later, we have a lovely refreshed cabin for our little learners to enjoy. New term, new start!🙃😀
