Job title: Preschool Practitioner (1:1 Support Worker)
Responsible to: Management team
Purpose of the job: Working as a key person and support worker to one child with Autism
Regular working hours: 8:45am-12:15pm Monday to Friday (term-time only) for an immediate start
Contract: Until July 2022
Salary: £8.91-£9.50 per hour
Safeguarding requirement: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting children and young people’s welfare. All staff must share this commitment and follow the prescribed policy and procedures to continuously promote a culture of safeguarding.
Main duties include, but are not limited to:
-Acting as a key person to the child, liaising closely with parents, colleagues and other professionals associated with the child’s care plan, ensuring the child’s individual needs are met.
-Assessing and documenting the child’s learning and development in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and plan suitable activities to extend their learning.
-Commit to a culture of safeguarding every child in attendance. Reporting and documenting any safeguarding concerns.
-Supporting the child with self-care tasks.
-Supporting the child with targets set by professionals working with child.
-To work as a team and participate in team, supervision and appraisal meetings.
-Attend and contribute to TAF meetings.
-Undergo training courses relevant to the role.

Person specification
Essential criteria
-Experience of working in an Early Years setting.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Level 2 Early Years qualification or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of child development from 0-5 years.
-A commitment to promote a culture of safeguarding and equal opportunities.
-A friendly and flexible approach to work and a sense of humour!
Desirable criteria
-Level 3 Early Years qualification
-Child Protection and Safeguarding training (if this is not currently held, such training will be necessary on or before the successful candidate starts),
-12 hour Paediatric First Aid training,
-Experience of working with young children with Special Educational Needs
