It's Dahlia Day in the plant centre tomorrow (Sunday 6 Sept). Join expert dahlia grower Peter Wilson between 2pm and 4:30pm to hear about how to grow champion blooms. Entry to this informal Q&A session is free.

Why not head into the gardens to see the Dahlia Border in bloom? The recent rain has seen our display come along by leaps and bounds. Normal admission charges apply to garden entry.

We're opening our doors for Heritage Open Days - England's largest festival of history and culture!

Book a free ticket to visit between Monday 14 and Sunday 20 September to explore Anglesey Abbey's gardens and historic house for free. You'll be able to see our 100th anniversary exhibition 'The Art of Collecting' which showcase Lord Fairhaven's eclectic collection, and venture into the gardens where the dahlias will still be in bloom and the cyclamen carpet spreads under the trees.

We're looking for Food & Beverage Team Members to work in one of the National Trust's busiest food locations.

As a Food & Beverage Team Member your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after visitors in Redwoods Restaurant or The Garden Office Café, making sure that everyone finds great service and has an enjoyable time.

Fixed term contact: until 30 September 2027
Zero hours: while we can't guarantee a set number of hours each week, we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, including weekends and Bank Holidays. Shifts include 9:00-17:00, 10:00-15:00, 12:00-17:30 and 8:30-17:00, split shifts are not required.
Salary: £12.75 per hour

Closing date: 13 September 2026

Guess who will be making a special stop at Anglesey Abbey this December!

Make magical memories with a very special festive visit to the house this Christmas. Join a cast of characters on a magical mini adventure before gathering in the beautifully decorated Lower Gallery for the main event. Our very special Christmas guest will share a heart-warming story and give each child a gift to take home. There will also be a chance to take pictures with You-know-who and capture the memory.

📅Saturday 5 & Sunday 6 December, Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 December and
Friday 18 to Tuesday 22 December 2026.
⏰Slot times between 9:45am and 3pm.

We're not ready to say goodbye to Summer of Play. It's been such fun having families playing in the sandpit, putting on performances and joining in the games. We hope that you've all had as much fun as we have.

Time to give the gardens a breather for a few weeks before our fabulous autumn activities begin.

Time for one more adventure, to score one last goal, to build one last creation. Time to put on one more performance in the puppet theatre.

There's still time to play over the Bank Holiday Weekend. Come along and join in the Summer of Play. We'll be open Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. The doors open at 9:30am and the play doesn't end until 5pm on Monday.

What's the best recipe for a bulb lasagne? How do you ensure your pots are brimming with blooms throughout the season?

Join us this Bank Holiday Weekend in the Plant Centre and find out how to plant stunning bulb displays for next year using the lasagne planting method. Our staff will be on hand to help you choose the perfect combination of ingredients to plant perfect pots.

The Plant Centre will be open 9:30am to 4:45pm all weekend. There's no entry fee to shop, but normal admission will apply if you choose to visit the gardens and house.

Are you keen to explore and learn more about preventive conservation?
Are you curious to learn how to safely handle and care for collections and interiors?
Are you able to travel to Anglesey for a 9.00 start?
Then this might be for you!

We have a wonderful opportunity for individuals aged 18-30 to gain work experience at Anglesey Abbey with our Collections and House Team. The opportunity will run week commencing 12 October only. You are invited to select one weekday, to join the team from 9.00-2.00.

There are a limited number of places, with no formal interview; selection will be via an application and informal telephone call. Closing date 6th September 2026. Please apply the National Trust myvolunteering site, search for Anglesey Abbey.
