Cambridge Socialist Workers Party Meeting
Thursday 11th June
7.30pm
📣📣📣📣📣
Racism will not simply wither away over time—it is relentlessly pushed by those at the top of society and continues to perform a series of vital functions for capitalism.
The revolutionary Malcolm X said towards the end of his life, “You can’t have capitalism without racism.” Do you agree? Come to the meeting be part of the discussion and share ideas about what we can all do to take us towards living in a world where racism no longer exists.

Cambridge SWP Meeting
THURSDAY 4th JUNE - 7.30pm
📣📣📣📣📣
Did class society always exist ? How and why did it develop and how did it shape the lives of women and gender there after? Darwin, along with Wallace, proved that evolution was key to understanding the “origin of species”. Marx and Engels insisted that human beings evolved as social beings through their labour and interaction with nature. Small changes in securing food and shelter shaped the way human society evolved. This process took thousands of years. It ultimately led from egalitarian societies to class societies with women’s oppression at their heart. Come and hear about the beginning of everything at this week’s meeting!

Cambridge Socialist Workers Party meeting Thursday 28th of May @ 7:30pm

MARXIST ECONOMICS AND CAPITALISM TODAY

One of Marx’s central ideas is that economic crisis is intrinsic to capitalism. This is in contrast to most mainstream economists who understand crisis as an aberration or a problem caused by external factors. Therefore, their conclusion is that crisis can be corrected out of the system.

Instead, Marx argued that crisis stems from the system itself. He identified a contradiction at the heart of capitalism. The same dynamic that drives the system forward also makes it extremely crisis prone and destructive.
This weeks talk will open up this discussion and explain why Marxist economics are still so relevant

Labour and the Tories have been wiped out in local elections with racist Reform capitalising on the public’s disillusionment with the political centre.

Both Keir Starmer and Kemi Badenoch can only seem to respond by parroting Nigel Farage, legitimising Reform’s divisive rhetoric.

With Labour’s collapse and the implosion of Your Party, an insurgent Green party has attracted voters on the Left but are already showing signs of political compromise.

What is the way forward for socialists now?

📣📣📣📣📣
The nine-day general strike in 1926 in Britain was a bitter class struggle that showed how ordinary people dared to change history. Revisiting the General Strike of 1926 is a new history of the strike based on revolutionary and anti-capitalist politics that has back to life the voices of those who fought a century ago for a Better tomorrow.
Come and hear Co-author Judy Cox in conversation and share your thoughts and ideas about this important event.

📣 THURSDAY 30th April

Cambridge SWP Meeting
All Welcome
📣📣📣📣📣📣
Israel is led by a far right government that is determined to carry out genocide. But the problem runs far deeper than the likes of prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu or his far right ministers.
Zionism has always used violence to ethnically cleanse Palestinians—before, during and after the foundation of the state of Israel in 1948. The Israeli state and society has been on a rightward march for decades and Netanyahu’s government is a product of this.
This rightward march is no accident. It is rooted in the logic of Zionist settler colonialism and its inability to crush Palestinian resistance.
