Please be our eyes and ears. Two of our stations have been broken into this week, so we're asking you, our local residents, to help us look out for any suspicious activity around our station.

Chatteris and Gamlingay fire stations were broken into in the early hours of Monday morning and Tuesday evening respectively. At Chatteris, life-saving cutting equipment used at road traffic collisions and other rescues was stolen.

Chief Fire Officer Matthew Warren said: “Break-ins to fire stations are happening across the country and this week we have been victims twice. We are asking for local residents to please help be our eyes and ears, to report any suspicious activity and make a note if possible of any vehicle details including registration number, as well as descriptions of any individuals involved.

"Please also save any CCTV or Ring doorbell footage if it has captured any suspicious activity. The incidents have happened when it’s dark, in the evening and early morning. Entry has been forced, so if you hear a noise coming from one of our stations, please do just look and check to see if it is our firefighters, don’t assume it is. This support by our local communities would be greatly appreciated.”

We had a fantastic time at the jumble sale today; plenty of smiling faces, squirting hoses, and some fun with Vulcan the Fire Engine 🚒 💦

A special shoutout goes to the incredibly kind couple who brought down a delicious chickpea curry, rice, and drinks to keep the crew fuelled and hydrated on such a hot day. It was a rare treat and truly appreciated by all of us ! thank you! 🙏🍛

Hat trick complete! 🎉🔥 Congratulations to Firefighter George, who’s just passed his final assessments and completed his 24-month probation; officially becoming a fully qualified on-call firefighter 👨‍🚒💪

The removal of the “probie diamonds” from his helmet marks the end of a long road of dedication, learning, and commitment.

With George’s success, that’s 3 for 3 from our latest intake; a brilliant achievement that the whole station is proud of. Passing first time isn’t guaranteed, and each of them has earned their place through hard work and resilience.

Well done George! Well deserved🚒👏

At 12:00 today, the crew at Linton Fire Station held a minute’s silence to pay our respects to those who served before us, here in Linton, across Cambridgeshire, the UK, and around the world.

We remember and honour all firefighters who have dedicated their time to protecting the communities around them.
