Yesterday I went to Cambridge Pride and met some fellow Greens. The atmosphere was joyous, hopeful, and full of love, compassion and solidarity from the LGBT+ community and allies. Thank you to the organisers of Cambridge Pride for organising such a wonderful, joyous event.

There many people from all sections of society and the LGBT+ community that came along to have fun and to be proud of who they are, just as they should be, proud, loud and being who they truly are.

Some people in society (we know the kind) question/critise the need for Pride and claim LGBT+ have all the same rights, so why do we need Pride still, after all there's no straignt Pride they say. Well, how many countries in the world are you persecuted and prosecuted from being heterosexual? ZERO, that's how many. We must call out, debunk, and relay the facts to all those who deny the reality for the LGBT+ community and show solidarity, support, and true allyship to our KGBT+ brothers and sisters 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Representation is extremely important, yet in most this 'representation' comes in the form of jokes, tokenism, and stereotypes that cause far more damage than no representation. People in the LGBT+ community are still regularly discriminated against, face hate and attacks, kicked out of homes and made homeless, bullied and harassed, and in some countries are still persecuted and prosecuted/killed for being LGBT+.

Even in countries with 'equality' laws, it still often falls way too short of what is needed for real equality and protections. This disparity is especially pronounced for our trans brothers and sisters, especially with current disgusting anti-trans court cases. We must stand with out LGBT+ community because there's no true human rights until everyone has equal human rights.

We must continue to fight for full equality until 🏳️‍🌈 No One Left Behind 🏳️‍⚧️

On the 20th and 22nd June at 18:30, I will be hosting two screenings of the National Emergency Briefing (NEB) in Impington, Cambs. There will be experts in the field attending.

The event will start with an introduction to the film and climate emergency, followed by the film itself, short talks, group discussions and then open discussions and Q&As. Light refreshments will be provided.

The NEB film is hosted by Chris Packham, and is split into nine sections and discussed by experts in the field:

This is just another case of israeli IOF and israeli govt depravity and evil. Declassified UK interviewed some of those who were abducted in international waters, which itself is illegal under international law and classed as piracy or act of war, and then beaten, tortured, assaulted, tasered, shot at, r***d, forced into stress positions, and more.

This is what cretinous supporters of israel and zionism claim is the "most moral army in the world". If that's their idea of moral, we're well and truly screwed.

If this is how they treat peaceful humanitarians on the Global Sumud Flotilla, how do you think innocent Palestinians are treated, including babies and kids (and yes, the vast majority are innocent). Palestine has been illegally settled since 1948 when the zionists invaded Palestine and created a colonial settler apartheid 'state' on native Palestinian land, destroying and stealing hundreds of villages during the Nakba.

Palestinians are facing a live streamed genocide and I oppose genocide (and apartheid) outright, wherever it is occuring in the world. The UK government, along with the US, Germany and others are complicit and facilitating the genocide of Palestinians and they should face accountability, prosecution and jail.

Now I should need to make this point, but we're in a world turned on it's head, but Judaism is not zionism or israel, you do not need to be a Jewish person to be a zionist, conflating Judaism with zionism and israel is anti-semitic. Zionism is a racist and supremacist politic ideology. Many many Jews oppose both zionism and israel.

We heard repeatedly from the Lib Dems that "Only Lib Dems can beat Reform here!" Reality was rather different, Reform had zero chance of winning in either Histon & Impington or Shelford. It appears that the Lib Dem message was a national message regardless of the wards.

The two bar charts show how dishonest and unimaginative the Lib Dems really are, but more than that, if they're happily misinform and lie about this, what else would Lib Dems lie about?! 🤔

Before voting in elections, make sure you do a bit of research, look into the policies (not what the MSM tells you) and look at the stats being provided. If they seem off, check, because your intuition may be spot on or you may be surprised 🤷‍♂️

We are in a climate emergency and it will only get worse if we continue business as usual. We need radical changes across global society, from removing our reliance on fossil fuels, to changing shopping habits, to moving to plant-based diets, if we truly want to make any difference and impact.

Even if we stopped all global emissions today, we're still locked into a 2°C rise by or before 2045, due to lag in Earths systems.

🔥 Climate Craziness! 🔥 Not even June yet, but my rose bush has already had a massive flush and now shows signs of scorching. 🌹🥵

A month on from posting about the very early blossoming of my roses, I notice that the mass of early flowers have "gone over" in a manner I've never seen before: all those brown ones essentially look burned? Unsurprising given temperatures over the last few days.

Of course, I can spend a pleasant evening dead-heading my rose bush, while listening to all the birdsong out here. No great issue. BUT: record-breaking May temperatures are a very worrying real life sign that our climate is changing ever faster.

Adapting the domestic garden to cope is one thing. Adapting our food production systems, and water supplies is quite another, and needs urgent attention from our government.

Only the Green Party puts climate adaptation ahead of other political priorities.

Mark Rowley (Met Police Commissioner) must resign, on many occasions showed a pro-right wing, pro-war crime, anti-climate change bias through his words, choices and policing of protesters.

With just a week before local elections, Rowley responded with an unprecedented attack on Polanski, accusing him of amplifying “inaccurate and misinformed commentary” and of being an “armchair critic”. A former Scotland Yard superintendent said: "Officer safety doesn’t teach you to kick somebody in the head" Shevadded "Zack Polanski was absolutely right to question that".

The retweet in question was that accused officers of "repeatedly and violently kicking a mentally ill man in the head when he was already incapacitated by Taser"

Rowley has been repeatedly blurring the lines between policing and politics, making false claims and even outright lying, attacks pro-peace anti-genocide marches (particularly pro-palestine freedom marches), whilst saying nothing about racist, hateful far-right marches.

It's possible that he’s carving himself a political career.

Today I met with co-founder of The Muslim Greens and Levenshulme (Manchester) Green Party Councillor, Fesl Reza-Khan. We were joined by Romsey (Cambridge) Green Councillor, Darren Green at Cambridge Central Mosque.

Cambridge Central Mosque is a 21st Century eco-Mosque that has won awards for its architecture and sustainable design. It opened it's doors in 2019 has been a place of worship, a community center and cultural hub. It serves the community by hosting various events, lectures, workshops, and cultural celebrations. All are welcome at the Cambridge Central Mosque, regardless of religion or non.

We had many lovely and interesting conversations about the Green Party, the Mosque, Eid, local communities across the UK, especially Levenshulme and Cambridge & South Cambs, and what we can do as Green members and councillors to improve the area and living standards for the community. We also spoke about how we can fight back against the rise of the Far Right and the creeping authoritarianism of labour.

After our meet up in the eco-Mosque, we took a few photos, before I then interviewed Fesl on 4 key areas:

- Who is Fesl? What does he do? And why is he here in Cambridge and at the Mosque?

- How does an eco-Mosque, on Eid, represent to Fesl, relating to community, justice and hope?

- With the rise of islamophobia, racism and hate, what can councils, political parties and ordinary people do to turn solidarity in to real change?

With the genocide Palestinians are facing, how can our solidaritybe turned in to concrete action to forment change and help end the genocide, allowing for Palestinian freedom, rights, and self-determination?

Histon, Impington & Orchard Park Greens were very close to winning a Green seat. Myself, Edd and Paul are active in our ward. Our Green campaign team ran absolutely campaign, with many residents commenting on how impressive it was and that is was the best csmpaign they've seen.

Myself and Edd are Parish councillors for Histon & Impington, with Edd being a Parish councillor for Histon and I'm Parish councillor for Impington.
