We are in a climate emergency and it will only get worse if we continue business as usual. We need radical changes across global society, from removing our reliance on fossil fuels, to changing shopping habits, to moving to plant-based diets, if we truly want to make any difference and impact.

Even if we stopped all global emissions today, we're still locked into a 2°C rise by or before 2045, due to lag in Earths systems.

🔥 Climate Craziness! 🔥 Not even June yet, but my rose bush has already had a massive flush and now shows signs of scorching. 🌹🥵

A month on from posting about the very early blossoming of my roses, I notice that the mass of early flowers have "gone over" in a manner I've never seen before: all those brown ones essentially look burned? Unsurprising given temperatures over the last few days.

Of course, I can spend a pleasant evening dead-heading my rose bush, while listening to all the birdsong out here. No great issue. BUT: record-breaking May temperatures are a very worrying real life sign that our climate is changing ever faster.

Adapting the domestic garden to cope is one thing. Adapting our food production systems, and water supplies is quite another, and needs urgent attention from our government.

Only the Green Party puts climate adaptation ahead of other political priorities.

Mark Rowley (Met Police Commissioner) must resign, on many occasions showed a pro-right wing, pro-war crime, anti-climate change bias through his words, choices and policing of protesters.

With just a week before local elections, Rowley responded with an unprecedented attack on Polanski, accusing him of amplifying “inaccurate and misinformed commentary” and of being an “armchair critic”. A former Scotland Yard superintendent said: "Officer safety doesn’t teach you to kick somebody in the head" Shevadded "Zack Polanski was absolutely right to question that".

The retweet in question was that accused officers of "repeatedly and violently kicking a mentally ill man in the head when he was already incapacitated by Taser"

Rowley has been repeatedly blurring the lines between policing and politics, making false claims and even outright lying, attacks pro-peace anti-genocide marches (particularly pro-palestine freedom marches), whilst saying nothing about racist, hateful far-right marches.

It's possible that he’s carving himself a political career.

Today I met with co-founder of The Muslim Greens and Levenshulme (Manchester) Green Party Councillor, Fesl Reza-Khan. We were joined by Romsey (Cambridge) Green Councillor, Darren Green at Cambridge Central Mosque.

Cambridge Central Mosque is a 21st Century eco-Mosque that has won awards for its architecture and sustainable design. It opened it's doors in 2019 has been a place of worship, a community center and cultural hub. It serves the community by hosting various events, lectures, workshops, and cultural celebrations. All are welcome at the Cambridge Central Mosque, regardless of religion or non.

We had many lovely and interesting conversations about the Green Party, the Mosque, Eid, local communities across the UK, especially Levenshulme and Cambridge & South Cambs, and what we can do as Green members and councillors to improve the area and living standards for the community. We also spoke about how we can fight back against the rise of the Far Right and the creeping authoritarianism of labour.

After our meet up in the eco-Mosque, we took a few photos, before I then interviewed Fesl on 4 key areas:

- Who is Fesl? What does he do? And why is he here in Cambridge and at the Mosque?

- How does an eco-Mosque, on Eid, represent to Fesl, relating to community, justice and hope?

- With the rise of islamophobia, racism and hate, what can councils, political parties and ordinary people do to turn solidarity in to real change?

With the genocide Palestinians are facing, how can our solidaritybe turned in to concrete action to forment change and help end the genocide, allowing for Palestinian freedom, rights, and self-determination?

Histon, Impington & Orchard Park Greens were very close to winning a Green seat. Myself, Edd and Paul are active in our ward. Our Green campaign team ran absolutely campaign, with many residents commenting on how impressive it was and that is was the best csmpaign they've seen.

Myself and Edd are Parish councillors for Histon & Impington, with Edd being a Parish councillor for Histon and I'm Parish councillor for Impington.

𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀, 𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀.

Now, lets make this abundantly clear for those who would try and spin this, anti-semitism is vile and should be wholeheartedly rejected and called out, as should Islamaphobia (and in fact any from of hate and discrimination).

There were 3 victims, not 2, during the Golders Green attacks, yet the first victim has essentially been erased from this, the question is why?! It is worth making the point that Judaism is not Zionism, nor means supporting israel. Judaism and Zionism & Israel are not the same thing and conflating them is anti-semitic.

Well, I think we know why, the first victim was not Jewish, but Muslim, and that won't play into the 'anti-semitism' narrative and would make it harder for starmer and co. to make false claims, and clamp down further on democratic rights, such as paeceful protests against the genocide of Palestinians. (Note: there are other genocides happening too, such as the Sudanese genocide and Myanmar/Burma genocide, they must also be opposed).

This blantant weaponisation of anti-semitism is not protecting Jews, it is creating a more dangerous situation for them. But lets be honest here, the use of anti-semitism has never been about protecting Jews, but zionist israel. Many Jews have been accused of anti-semitism, self-hatimg Jews, attacked by the establishment (inc. Starmer), arrested, assaulted, and more.

Many Jews know how dangerous this false anti-semitism narrative being spun is and they reject it, but are ignored, suppressed and/or attacked. Just look at how Zack Polanski has been treated, with recently Trevor Philips trying to erase Zacks Jewish identity and views, simply because they don't fit the narrative.

The attacker at Golders Green, Essa Suleiman, was a British national, that was discharged from a psychiatric hospital and was known to be dangerous. The first victim of the attack was 𝗜𝘀𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗛𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗮, a Muslim man, the 2 other victims were 𝗦𝗵𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗱 and 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲, both Jewish.

If you notice, the majority of the MSM and government (except Greens) have completely ignored the first victim, because he is Muslim and doesn't play into the anti-semitism narrative that Starmer and co. want to use to increase powers and suppress rights. Starmer has already called this an anti-semitic and a terrorist attack. This was not based on anti-semitism or terrorism. But again, notice Starmer and co. completely ignore the Muslim victim. There seems to be, not seems, is, a hierarchy in place here of what is acceptable (islamaphobia) and is not acceptable (anti-zionism Masquerading as anti-semitism), this hierarchy needs to be utterly rejected.

The BBC, the alleged 'bastion of impartiality' has also ignored the first victim and is going with the anti-semitism narrative. It is absolutely repulsive of the BBC to not report all the facts, but instead leave facts out to paint a completely false narrative.

If the Muslim man is included, the narrative falls apart and brings into question everything else that has been carefully constructed by the MSM and government, a false narrative.

There is no other way this can actually be seen, other than blatant racism, islamaphobia, erasure, insidious and tbh, a very real danger to our rights and lives. This is all being done, not to protect Jews (many Jews have been attacked by those claiming to protect them from anti-semitism), but to protect the apartheid genocidal zionist entity called israel. I am at least happy to see push back from independent media, Green, your party and independent politicians (and a scattering of other politicians), and many in the public, but it needs to be even louder and more forceful. I'm also glad to see that some israelis are fighting against israel, even if it's only 8% of the population.

We cannot allow Ishmail Husseina to be erased from this, nor allow this web of lies to continue being spun.

We must reject and oppose anti-semitism, but we must also reject and oppose the weaponisation and false anti-semitism narrative being spun by the MSM, politicians/government, israel and the zionist supporters. If we do not reject it and fight back, we will lose many rights and freedoms, and face an ever worsening authoritarian police state.

I will also that how the Metropolitan Police handled the attacker went far beyond reasonable force. How is it reasonable to continue kicking and using such excessive force on the person they have incapacitated and under police control?! The answer is it is not readonable.

We are heading down a very dangerous path right now, a path that has been travelled in the past, one using scapegoats, false narratives and propaganda. If we do not reject it and fight back, we will head into a very dark place, just as happened with Germany in the 1930s/40s. History should be a warning, to learn from, not a How To guild.

The Green Party membership has hit over 230,000 members 💚🥳🔥

The Greens continue to grow the membership base, growing from strength to strength, and with the huge number ofvseats win in the local elections, it very likely that we will get many more new Green members. 💚🐝

During the local elections, we saw just how desperate the MSM and labour was, including lib dems, tories and reform were to try and destroy the Greens with absolute lies, misinformation and claiming dishonest things. But as the results show, many many areas rejected the MSM noise.

The 2026 local elections have come to a close and all results have come in. In my ward of Histon, Impington & Orchard Park (South Cambridgeshire), we, The Greens, came a clear 2nd overall. With Edd coming 4th with 1497 votes, I came 5th with 1201 votes, and Paul came 6th with 1072 votes.

Greens closed the gap between us and Lib Dems by a further 4%, with Greens increasing by 2% and Lib Dems falling 2%.
In Shelford the gap between Greens and Lib Dems was just 9 votes.

In Cambridge, Greens gained 7 seats, bringing the total upto 12, making Greens the officially opposition party Cambridge City Council🥳💚

South Cambridgeshire was tantalisingly close to breaking through in our two target wards of Histon & Impington, and Shelford. Many of our development wards and even paper candidate wards did far better than expected and next local election session we will have almost all target wards 🗳✊️💚
