Councillors Peter Perry and Anthony Soady meet with Members and Officers of the Cornwall Inshore Fisheries Authority to inspect one of the fishery patrol vessels (Morvena) used to safeguard our fish and shellfish stocks from unlicensed or illegal fishing.
The Morvena makes regular coastal patrols and in our estuaries. Their actions help to ensure Cornwall has a sustainable future.

Cornwall Councillors attend Cornwall Youth Council Celebration Evening

Councillor Peter Perry joins fellow Councillors at the Atherton Hotel, Truro in support of Cornwall Youth Council.

Cornwall’s Youth Council was formed in April 2022 in recognition of Children’s Rights Article 12 ‘every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them and to have their views considered and taken seriously.’

Every two years young people aged 11-18 are given the opportunity to have a say in the issues facing young people, through a consultation and vote process. In February this year 14 schools participated in the election of Youth Councillors who will represent them over the next two years. Over 10,000 votes were recorded, a considerable achievement.
