Think before sharing back-to-school photos online ❌⚠️

Before you post those proud first-day moments, take a moment to check what information you're sharing.

School uniforms, logos, street signs, house numbers, car plates, and children's names can reveal more than you realise. Photos can also be copied, downloaded, or manipulated using AI.

Quick tips:
• Blur backgrounds with identifying details (badges, road signs, house numbers, car plates)
• Avoid sharing full names, exact ages, schools, or routines
• Check your privacy settings – consider making accounts private
• Remember: deleting later doesn't guarantee copies haven't been saved
• Involve older children in deciding what gets posted

❤️ Share the memory, not personal information about your child.

When do back-to-school nerves become something more?

Feeling nervous about going back to school is common. But sometimes those worries can start to feel bigger – affecting sleep, causing headaches or butterflies, making it difficult to concentrate or even making going into school feel overwhelming.

In the latest part of our Small Steps Back to School series, Jean shares some simple ways to manage worries when they start to build:

🌬️ Slow things down – take a few slow, calm breaths and give your body a chance to settle.
💭 Notice what your worry is telling you – worries can feel very convincing, but that doesn’t mean they’re always going to happen.
👣 Focus on the next small step – rather than thinking about the whole day, week or term, concentrate on what you need to do next.

Most importantly, you don’t have to manage big worries on your own. If they’re affecting your sleep, stopping you doing things you usually enjoy or making it difficult to attend school, talk to someone you trust.

Small steps can make a big difference.
