💙 Making a difference in our community :

It was a real honour last week to visit the wonderful team at Parity for Disability in Mytchett and see their fantastic new minibus. 🚌

The minibus has been made possible through SHBC Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding, alongside generous support from Rushmoor Rotary.

This is exactly what community funding should be about — investing locally in projects that make a genuine difference to people’s everyday lives.

The new minibus will help Parity for Disability’s attendees travel safely, stay connected and enjoy greater freedom and independence. It was lovely to hear how much of a difference it will make to the people who use the centre.

As a local Councillor, I’m incredibly proud to see CIL funding being used in such a positive and meaningful way. It’s a great example of what can be achieved when Councillors, community organisations and local groups work together.

A huge thank you to everyone at Parity for Disability for the fantastic work you do👏

🎉 Another fantastic Summer Bank Holiday Family Fun Day! 🎉

What a lovely afternoon of fun, laughter and community spirit! ☀️🎈

A huge well done to the Mytchett Community Centre for another brilliantly organised and well-run Family Fun Day. There were some lovely stalls, plenty of activities, a very popular Dog Show, games, food, drinks and lots of fun for all the family! 🐶🎪🍔

It was wonderful to see so many people coming along and enjoying the day together. ❤️

A big thank you to all the organisers, volunteers, stallholders and everyone who helped make the event such a success. 👏👏

I currently have some very special visitors from France — my Mum and my sister - and we've been enjoying exploring some of the UK's wonderful tourist attractions, including Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Windsor, Bath, Stonehenge... and, of course, the beautiful and famous St Barbara's Church at Deepcut.

Many thanks to the Church Warden and Reverend Daniel Natnael for making our visit to St Barbara's so welcoming and
memorable. We truly appreciated the warm welcome and the opportunity to visit this special place.

Positive Update :

Following concerns raised by residents regarding a pathway in the Basset Road area, I made representations to Accent Housing.

I’m pleased to report that the necessary works were completed on Monday. I’ve attached before-and-after photos to show the positive result.

Accent Housing’s contractor apologised that these pathways had previously been missed from the schedule and has assured me that they will be included in future works.

It’s great to see the issue resolved and to have worked with residents and Accent Housing to achieve a positive outcome. 👍

Good to see our local officers taking action to tackle suspected drug-related activity and help keep our communities safe. 👏

Two arrests in Frimley Green

A recent police visit to an address in Frimley Green has resulted in two arrests following the discovery of equipment linked to cannabis cultivation.

Officers attended the address on Monday (10 August), following reports of suspicious activity. While no cannabis was found, the property contained items suspected to be associated with its production.

A 49-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and have been released on bail while enquiries continue.

Today may feel like a really difficult day, but one setback does not define your future. Sometimes a different path can lead to opportunities and good things you never expected. Be kind to yourself, take a breath, and remember that there is always another chapter to write.

Deepcut Sang :

Following concerns raised by residents about overflowing bins at Deepcut, I contacted Skanska to raise the issue. Bins on Deepcut that don’t have a QR code fall under Skanska’s responsibility, so it was important to make sure the concerns were passed to the right people.

Today, I decided to take Nala for a walk at the Sang and check the area for myself. I’m delighted to say that everything was looking good and the bins appeared to be well managed. 🐾

I’ve also been reassured by Skanska that they have spoken to their contractor and asked them to maintain the bins at a suitable frequency to prevent them from overflowing. They have confirmed that the frequency of collections will be increased, as the bins have been filling up more quickly than previously.

It’s great to see residents raising issues, action being taken and improvements being made. That’s what local councillors should be about — listening, following up and getting things done for our community.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to flag the issue. Please keep the local issues coming — I’m always happy to raise them and work with the relevant organisations to get them resolved.

A positive result from local police patrols tackling dangerous and illegal e-scooter use in our community. 👮‍♂️👇

Illegal e-scooter seized in Frimley

Officers have been out and about recently hunting down illegal e-scooters and motorbikes being ridden dangerously off road.

This has been particularly flagged as an issue to us in local parks including Frimley Lodge Park, Frimley Green Recreation ground, and Heatherside estate.

On Tuesday, 4 August, PC Hudson was out on patrol when he came across three people riding an e-scooter dangerously in the area around Burrell Road.

The three people made off from PC Hudson. The scooter is currently in police custody.
