With our swimming lesson promotion on now, we asked some of our swimming teachers what makes swimming lessons fun...so let's hear from some of them!

Kelly loves teaching swimming lessons and here's some of her favourite key water safety messages, experiences and top tips:

🩵 I believe learning to swim is extremely important as a life skill and for safety around water.
🩵 Learning to swim opens up life to amazing experiences, fun and day to day wellbeing 🥳
🩵 Day to day bath and hair washing can be a fun family time or very stressful. Just being content with water in your face could take that anxiety away for both child and parents.
🩵 From younger children having summer fun cooling off in paddling pools and water parks, to water sports, competitive comps, hot tubs, exercise - being able to swim opens up so many different experiences. My favourite ones are swimming with dolphins and snorkeling off the south of Spain.
🩵 Swimming doesn't stop at just doing lengths but we all need to start at the beginning and learn the skill first finding more fun things along your journey.
🩵 I believe it's not just the swimming skills but education. We need to respect and understand the outside world with water. Even good swimmers can get into trouble not understanding water temp, currents, depths, speed etc.

Most Wiltshire Council leisure centres are closed for the bank holiday, Monday 31 August, but will be back open as normal on Tuesday 1 September

There will be some leisure centres available to use if you wish to access our facilities on the day, and are willing and able to travel:

📍 Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre in Salisbury, 6am to 2pm
📍 Melksham Campus, 8am to 2pm
📍 Devizes Leisure Centre, 8am to 2pm
📍 Marlborough Leisure Centre, 7am to 2pm
📍 The Activity Zone, Malmesbury, 6.30am to 1.30am
