🕷️ A Little Spider Discovery at Sunny Days Pre-School! 🕷️

The children discovered a little spider in our Pre-school room! We carefully placed it into a magnifying pot so the children could safely explore and take a closer look. 🔍

The children were fascinated by its colours, body and eight legs, and enjoyed counting them together. They were especially excited when the spider began making a web inside the pot and watched as it swung from its newly made web! 🕸️

It was wonderful to see the children showing such curiosity, gentleness, and care towards a little creature in our garden. ❤️

After spending some time observing our new friend, we carefully returned the spider to the garden so it could continue on its way. 🌿🕷️

🌈 What a fun and exciting week we’ve had at Sunny Days Pre-School at Fynamore! 🌈

Our pre-schoolers have been very busy exploring what makes us important and special. ❤️ The children have enjoyed learning more about themselves and their friends, sharing what makes each of us unique and adding their ideas to our special display board. Some of the children even created their own little self-portraits! 🎨

We have also been exploring our emotions through stories and conversations, learning about the different ways we can express ourselves — whether that’s through art, communication, facial expressions or our actions. 😊🎨💬

And we can’t forget the excitement of meeting a little spider! 🕷️ The children showed wonderful curiosity and care as they investigated what made our eight-legged visitor special before safely returning it to the garden. 🕸️🌿

This week we have also been busy:

🎶 Moving our bodies to music
📚 Enjoying story sacks
📏 Measuring resources and ourselves using tape measures, rulers and blocks
🍽️ Building our independence during mealtimes
🤝 Learning more about ourselves and our friends

We continue to be both proud and amazed by how curious, capable and creative our little learners are. 🌟

🌟 What an amazing first week we have had at Sunny Days Pre-School, Fynamore! 🌟

The children have settled in brilliantly, and it has been wonderful to see them thrive and enjoy exploring their new environment. 💛

Last week, the children have been busy learning about our daily routines, building relationships and confidently exploring all that Pre-School has to offer.

They have jumped straight into lots of exciting activities, including investigating colours, talking about how we are feeling and creating some amazing construction buildings! 🏗️🎨

Some of the activities we have enjoyed include:

✨ Drawing our faces and talking about what makes us unique
📏 Measuring ourselves and comparing heights
📚 Sharing and enjoying books together
🥪 Self-serving our lunch and developing independence
🤝 Taking part in team games and learning to work together

We are so proud of how confidently the children have embraced their first week. They are already showing so many important skills that support their school readiness, including independence, communication, confidence, teamwork and curiosity.

We can’t wait to see what this week brings! 🌈✨

Are you a passionate Early Years professional looking for a setting where you will be trusted, supported, and genuinely valued? We are searching for an experienced Nursery Manager (or a Deputy ready to step up) to lead our "Good" Ofsted-rated nursery!

📍 Location: Calne, Wiltshire (easily commutable from Chippenham, Melksham, and Devizes)
💷 Salary: £38,000–£40,000 per annum (DOE) + Annual performance bonus
🎁 Perks: Up to £1,000 joining bonus, generous annual leave, personal CPD budget, and access to confidential wellbeing and counselling services.

About the Role:
Lead a dedicated team of around 20 colleagues with the freedom to shape the setting in line with your vision for outstanding care and early years education. You will be fully supported by an Area Manager.

What You Need:

✅ A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification
