💔 A personal announcement from Ceno

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to share that The Village Bistro will be closing its doors on Sunday the 13th of September 2026.

This is not a decision I ever imagined having to make. The Bistro has been such a huge part of my life, and I feel incredibly lucky to have shared it with so many wonderful customers over the years.

From birthdays and celebrations to family meals, coffees, catch-ups and everything in between, so many special memories have been made here. ❤️

To every customer who has supported us, recommended us, returned time and time again, or simply walked through our doors — thank you. Your support has meant more to me than you know.

Our final day will be Sunday and I would love for you to come and see us before we close and help us give The Village Bistro the goodbye it deserves.

While this is the end of my chapter with the Bistro, it won't be the end of the resturant itself. I’m really pleased to share that the restaurant will be under new management and is expected to reopen in just a few weeks, bringing a new chapter and a fresh start to the place so many of us have come to know and love.
Rest assured the Christmas Bookings will still go ahead.

There will be some changes for our staff as we reach the end of this chapter, and I know this will be difficult for everyone affected.

For me, there is a lot of sadness in saying goodbye, but also gratitude for everything the Bistro has given me — and for all of you who have been part of that journey.

KAME HOUSE is joining Core Caldicot . We’ll be bringing Anime TV, Film and TCG goodness to the centre, plus a range of Pokémon, Dragon Ball, Yu‑Gi‑Oh! and One Piece singles and booster packs.

We’re already planning TCG play and trade nights so fans can meet up, play and hang out.

English sealed TCG product won’t be stocked at this store due to high demand. Most sealed items and pre‑orders will still run through our website pre‑order page. A selection will be saved for in person releases.

Please note: Core is run by volunteers, so there may occasionally be a gap in product knowledge but if you ever need help or have questions about anything we stock, we’re always here to answer.

🚧 JUBILEE WAY SERVICE ROAD CLOSURE 🚧

The Jubilee Way Service Road in Caldicot Town Centre —the road running around Jubilee Way Car Park—will be closed on Wednesday 9 September for up to 24 hours to allow surface markings to be repainted.

🚗 All vehicles must be removed from the service road by 11pm on Tuesday 8 September.

Any vehicles left on the road may be removed or towed, with the owner liable for any associated charges.

We apologise for the short notice; unfortunately, the timing of the work is dependent on contractor availability.

We will accommodate local businesses and residents as much as possible. However, please be aware that access cannot be guaranteed while the work is underway.

For everyone’s safety, please do not remove, move or ignore any barriers or signage, as doing so may cause further delays and disruption.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

We now have a SALE on all Frog Bikes left in the shop. Most of these bikes have come into the shop as a result of a part exchange. Sadly Frog Bikes are no longer being produced but if you can get hold of one they are a great bike for your child to learn to ride on. Not only are they lightweight, which means they are a joy to ride and handle, they are also really well made which means they perform well and are very robust.
