🏛️ Project Complete | Westminster Cathedral Crypt Wall Upgrade 🏛️

Last week, the LAC Services team successfully completed a specialist project at the iconic Westminster Cathedral, demonstrating the strength of our multi-trade offering and collaborative approach.

Our client required the removal of an existing services room wall within the cathedral crypt, which was to be replaced in accordance with the project drawings. The new installation comprised a 60-minute fire-rated partition wall, complete with a FD60s-certified door set, helping to improve both fire safety and compartmentation within the space.

🔨 Scope of Works:

🪚 Carpentry
• Construction of the new stud partition wall
• Installation of plasterboard
• Fitting of the FD60s-certified doorset

🎨 Plastering & Decorating
• Skimming of the newly installed wall
• Full decoration and finishing works, transforming the appearance of the area

🔥 Fire Stopping
• Sealing all pe*******ons, voids and openings
• Ensuring effective compartmentation and compliance with fire safety requirements

Working within such a prestigious and historic building was a privilege for our team. The positive feedback received from the client is a reflection of the professionalism, workmanship and dedication shown by everyone involved.

👏 A huge thank you and well done to all teams who contributed to the successful delivery of this project

During May half term, the team at LAC Services (East Anglia) Ltd had the privilege of carrying out fire stopping works at St Paul’s Cathedral School.

Working within such a prestigious and historic building is something we are incredibly proud of. Projects like this highlight just how important passive fire protection is, not only for compliance, but for safeguarding people, property, and the future of important buildings.

Fire stopping plays a critical role in slowing the spread of fire and smoke through a building, helping to protect escape routes, reduce damage, and ultimately save lives. Every pe*******on sealed and every compartment protected contributes to the overall safety and resilience of the structure.

Being trusted to deliver our expertise in environments of this calibre reflects the high standards and professionalism our team brings to every project.

A great effort from everyone involved during the half term period.

📔Why Education Matters in Fire Safety 📔

At LAC Services (East Anglia) Ltd, we believe that effective passive fire protection and fire risk assessment start with education.

Fire safety isn’t just about compliance, it’s about understanding
🔥 How buildings behave in a fire
🔥 How compartmentation protects lives
🔥 How identifying risks early can prevent devastating consequences.

That’s why we’re passionate about continuous learning, professional development, and helping clients understand the importance of passive fire protection measures within their buildings.

Whether it’s
🟣 Fire doors
🟣 Fire stopping
🟣 Compartmentation surveys
🟣 Comprehensive fire risk assessments
Informed decisions lead to safer environments for occupants, businesses, and communities.

As regulations and best practices continue to evolve, so does our commitment to staying up to date and sharing knowledge that helps improve safety standards across the industry.

Fire doors save lives, but only when they are installed, inspected, and maintained correctly. 🔥

Recently completed at Cumberland School:
🚪One double FD60 pivot door set installation
🚪One FD30s toilet door set installation

Correctly fitted fire doors play a critical role in slowing the spread of fire and smoke, protecting escape routes, and giving occupants valuable time to evacuate safely. Regular fire door inspections and ongoing maintenance are just as important as the initial installation, helping to ensure doors remain compliant, functional, and ready to perform when needed most.

Proud to support safer buildings through professional fire door installation and compliance, focused workmanship.
