RAF Honington HIVE

RAF Honington HIVE The HIVE is an information network available to all members of the service community

Royal Air Force Honington has a history of being a major flying base that dates back to the 1930s but which today is the RAF’s main centre of Force Protection. RAF Honington is a busy operational station, situated midway between the main towns of Bury St Edmunds to the South and Thetford in Norfolk to the North. The proximity of the main A14 road into East Anglia makes Honingtons’ rural location v

ery accessible. The station (within the wire) provides a selection of amenities; a swimming pool and a well-equipped gymnasium, learning centre and a hairdresser. Outside the wire you will find the Families Bar, Stores, purpose built Childcare Centre, Service Church, Fish & Chip takeaway, Chinese takeaway, Hairdressers & Beauty and The Fox pub. Suffolk County Council also provide a mobile library service (contact the HIVE for up to date timetable). The Community Centre provides a focal point for the local community with various activities and sessions being hosted, it also accommodates the Soft Play, Coffee Shop and HIVE Information Office.

2026 Reserves Continuous Attitude Survey

The results from the 2026 Reserves Continuous Attitude Survey (ResCAS) were published on, 6th Aug 2026.

4,587 responses were received representing an overall Tri-Service response rate of 24%.

A detailed breakdown of the Tri-Service results can be found on the gov.uk website here.

The RAF reports are available for internal viewing on the HQ Air Occupational Psychology sharepoint site if you have access to MODNET.

Speaking about the RAF’s ResCAS results, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, AM Paul Lloyd said:
“The 2026 Reserves Continuous Attitude Survey (ResCAS) provides an important insight into the experiences, views and priorities of our Volunteer and Regular Reserve personnel. It is an important tool that helps us shape policy, priorities, and future investment across the Reserve enterprise, so I would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete it. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us understand where we are performing well and, just as importantly, where we must improve. It will continue to inform meaningful and practical improvements across the RAF Reserves…..
Thank you for your continued service, your honesty in providing feedback and your dedication to delivering operational effect. We are listening, and we remain committed to building an even stronger and more engaged Reserve force for the future. There is no doubt that the RAF Reserves are a critical and integral element of our Whole Force, and the contribution you make to UK Defence is recognised and valued by RAF senior leadership.”
HQ Air Occupational Psychology team would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who took the time to complete the survey this year. The more responses we receive the more robust the evidence will be to drive through the changes you want to see.

If you have any questions about the survey or the results, please contact the HQ Air Occupational Psychology Team at: [email protected]

The RAF Benevolent Fund - Family Mediation

The RAF Benevolent Fund can provide access to subsidised family mediation in the event of relationship or marriage break down.

We recognise that separating from a partner can be an incredibly stressful time and hope that some support with sorting the practical side of separation will help.

Mediation can aid in the settlement of disputes over child contact and living arrangements, child maintenance, property and money with the goal of reaching an agreement without the need to go to court.

To find out a little more about what this service can offer, see our website
