DAY THREE OF SNOWDON!
Today the cadets had the pleasure of returning to Plas Y Brenin to take part in activities such as watersports (specifically kayaking and canoeing) and abseiling on a natural rock face.
Cadets had lots of fun getting involved with the activities offered to them especially the part where it came to pushing their peers into the water (credit to Cdt Howarth for having a grand total of 5 falls in).
A massive thank you to Plas Y Brenin for hosting us today and to the instructors for providing the cadets with the activities today! 🗻🌳

DAY TWO OF SNOWDON!
Today cadets were split down into two groups to take part in indoor climbing and high ropes in the morning and the afternoon.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed following the course onwards and upwards (even though it was very windy on the platforms). Other activities included crate stacking to see what team could get the highest stack (highscore was 30!) and a few opportunities to get on the giant swing.
Indoor climbing was a big hit too with cadets learning how to belay and getting comfortable on the walls.
Great effort from all today! 🌳🗻

DAY ONE OF SNOWDON!
On Sunday, we had our first full day in our home away from home in Betws-y-coed. It's good to be back with friends from 864 Watton Squadron Air Training Corps and 2470 Sudbury Air Cadets.
We split down into 3 groups to do some lowland walking and navigation exercises in the local area.
Due to the weather not being on our side, we had to cut the walk down slightly but all cadets managed to achieve approximately 14km each while taking turns navigating different parts of their planned routes.
All cadets enjoyed the day (albeit getting a bit wet) and are excited for the rest of our week! 🌳🗻

On Thursday, we had the privilege of being invited by 101 Squadron at RAF Brize Norton for a visit to meet squadron members and learn more about their work. Additionally, the attending cadets were incredibly fortunate to spend four hours in the air aboard a Voyager KC3 Air-to-Air Refuelling Aircraft, where they witnessed 14 Typhoons being refuelled. It was a remarkable experience for our cadets, some who joined the RAFAC just three months ago.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone at 101 Squadron and RAF Brize Norton for this amazing opportunity.

During the October half-term, three of our cadets attended the Norfolk and Suffolk Wing Air Cadets annual Adventure Training Camp based in Cumbria. The week was packed with great activities, including things such as hill walking, off-road cycling, indoor climbing, paddlesports, and a day trip to Penrith. For Sgt Gordon and Sgt Ryan, this camp also counted as the residential section for their Gold DofE Award!

All three cadets had an amazing time and would definitely go again - especially Sgt Ryan, who was attending for the third year in a row! A huge thank you to all of the staff who organised and supported the running of such a fun week!
