Bury St Edmunds market is a traditional market with over 80 stalls on a Saturday and 60 on a Wednesday. Held on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the year in the town centre it has had an excellent food offer which has included fruit and veg, meat and fish with many stalls obtaining locally sourced seasonal produce. In recent years the food offer has increased and now has a selection of food and

drink from around the world. Stallholders have extensive knowledge about their produce and happy to sell small and nonstandard quantities. Not only is there a wonderful array of foods you can also find everything from authentic Italian shirts, Portuguese pottery, vintage clothes and colourful plants and flowers. Bury is the friendliest and most welcoming market in East Anglia. Come along and take a look you will not be disappointed.

Visit the Abbey Gardens on Sunday 21st June for Suffolk Day, and take a look at these lovely scarecrows!

The scarecrows were made by The Crafty Foxes with local community groups within the town and each scarecrow made has a significant link to Suffolk. They have been made to celebrate Suffolk Day and our agricultural success. They will remain in Abbey gardens to visitors to enjoy for a month and then will be placed within various allotments within the town. The project was funded by the Town Council with contributions, monetary or in kind, from local businesses too. Greene King, Bury Abbey Rotary, British sugar, The Bury Society, Wickes, Theatre Royal and West Suffolk Council.

Bring the kids down and take part in a FREE craft workshop where children are invited to make their own paper scarecrow!
