Are you the person who keeps everything running smoothly?

We’re looking for a hub operative to join our team on a permanent basis.

You’ll be an important part of the team behind our repairs and maintenance service, making sure our technicians have the right materials, tools, PPE and equipment they need to get the job done.

From managing stock and deliveries to keeping our warehouse organised and making sure orders are followed up, you’ll help keep our Operations Hub running smoothly.

We’re looking for someone who is:

✔️ Organised and proactive
✔️ A great team player
✔️ Confident working in a busy environment
✔️ Able to juggle competing priorities and meet deadlines
✔️ A clear and effective communicator
✔️ Positive, practical and ready to get stuck in

Experience in housing repairs or warehousing would be a bonus, as would PAT testing, a forklift licence or a driving licence.

We manage around 8,000 homes across the east of England, and every member of our team plays a part in helping us provide safe, well-maintained homes for our residents.

Could you be the person who keeps our repairs operation moving?

Yesterday, we shared the winners of the Tallest Sunflower Competition. Today we are sharing the winners of the Sustainable Green Space Award.

We had two categories for this award, individual space and communal space and a huge thank you to our judges who had the difficult task of judging our shortlist.

Individual outdoor space winner 🪴

Congratulations to Debbie.

Debbie’s space highlighted that you don’t need a lot of room to create a beautiful sustainable space. From a wide range of plants and areas for wildlife to thrive including a bug hotel, reusing pots and materials to help reduce waste, and recycling water for watering. It was a clear winner with our judges.

Communal outdoor space winner 🥕

Congratulations to Thingoe Lodge.

This communal space highlighted what can happen when a community work together. From harvesting the nettles to make nettle juice, growing their own food for community dinners, a wide range of plants and flowers and their own wormery they really were a clear winner with our judges.

This summer, we’ve been celebrating the creativity, enthusiasm and green-fingered skills of our residents through two fantastic community initiatives – our Tallest Sunflower Competition and our new Sustainable Green Space Award.

We’ve loved seeing the time and effort residents have put into their entries, from growing impressive sunflowers to creating outdoor spaces that support wildlife and make the most of what they have.

The winners of our Tallest Sunflower Competition were Lana and Lulu🎉

Their sunflower measured an impressive 101 inches. Our winner’s received a £10 book voucher and an art box each.

Come back tomorrow to find out who won our Sustainable Green Space Award.

It’s been another busy month for the Resident Voice team, with lots of opportunities to meet residents, hear their views, help with any concerns they’ve raised as well as celebrate residents who entered our competitions.

They had a fantastic turnout at the Haverhill Parkway, Clements and Priors fun days, where residents and members of the wider community enjoyed activities including biscuit decorating and making sun catchers. It was great to spend time with residents and hear directly about any issues they were experiencing, including repairs and heating enquiries, which were passed on to the relevant teams.

Claire, our resident data officer, also spoke to residents about completing our resident data survey which you can find out more about here https://www.havebury.com/2026/07/23/making-our-services-work-for-everyone/

You can read more about what the team got up to in August as well as find out where they will be in September in the latest blog post https://www.havebury.com/2026/09/01/resident-voice-overview-august/

The Independent East Resident Voice Panel (IERVP) brings together residents from five housing associations across Norfolk and Suffolk.

The panel allows residents to share their experiences, discuss issues that matter to them and work with others to drive positive change across the region. Members look beyond their own landlord to identify common challenges, share ideas and influence how housing providers listen and respond to residents.

Earlier this year, our head of comms, Hayley, met with Havebury panel member, Alicia. Watch the video below to find out more about the IERVP and what Alicia enjoys most about her role on the panel.

Have you heard about the Independent East Resident Voice Panel (IERVP)?

The IERVP brings residents from five housing associations across Norfolk and Suffolk together to share their experiences, challenge and influence services, and help shape the future of social housing.

The panel gives residents a chance to have their voices heard beyond their own landlord and work with other residents to identify common issues, share ideas and help drive positive change across the region.

The panel is made up of residents from Havebury, Freebridge Community Housing, Broadland Housing Association, Orwell Housing Association and Saffron Housing Trust Ltd. It is chaired by Tpas England Senior Associate, Samantha Goodwin.

You can find out more about the panel by clicking the link below:

https://independenteast.org.uk/?blogcategory=IERV+Panel+Member

The panel also has its own Facebook group, which residents from all five housing associations can join. You can find it here -

https://www.facebook.com/groups/932978902797670

We’ll be sharing more about the panel members and ways you can get involved over the next few weeks.
