Each year in April, SAAPM is recognized by the Department of Defense. Observing SAAPM focuses on creating the appropriate culture to eliminate sexual assault and requiring a personal commitment from all Service members. This year's theme is "STEP FORWARD. Prevent. Report. Advocate."

Kicking off Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, RAF Mildenhall SAPR and checked identification credentials at the gate this morning. ✈

RAF Mildenhall, along with the entire DoD, observes SAAPM by focusing on creating the appropriate culture to eliminate sexual assault and requiring a personal commitment from all Service members.

We all have a role in preventing sexual assault and localizing SAAPM activities is a great way to extend this message.

A big thanks to these units for the role they play in keeping the installation and our Airmen safe.

RAF Mildenhall SAPR wants to highlight our amazing VVAs! Get to know Hillary who has been a VVA since 2016!

Why did you decide to become a VVA?
I became a VVA in 2016 because I wanted to provide a voice for those who felt they didn't have one. I have my own personal story and during that time I didn't have anyone who was willing to advocate for me or support me during a time that left me with so many
questions and confusion. Having my own experience allowed me to understand what someone else maybe going through and I wanted to make sure they didn't feel alone like I did. The SAPR program is one I hold close to my heart, and I am so honored to be a part of it.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my two daughters, Alanah who is 14 and Nadia who is 6. With the big age gap between them they keep me on my toes. I also love to travel and see different countries when I have the chance, being stationed here at RAF Mildenhall provides me with the opportunity to do so.

Fun Fact about me: I love to create and make as many things as I can by hand. During COVID I learned how to make T-Shirts and Tumblers and have been addicted since.
