🚨 Warning to Local Businesses & Customers 🚨

Today, in our small family-run coffee shop, we were targeted by a scam.

He paid with a £20 note, then said, “Hold on, I’ve got the change.” We handed his note back, he dropped his coins on the floor, then he insisted we hadn’t already returned his £20. He even emptied his pockets to “prove” he didn’t have it.
After checking the CCTV, it’s clear he did take it.
He left with his purchase and an extra £20.

We work hard for every penny we earn, and it’s upsetting to see someone deliberately take advantage of our trust. Small businesses like ours run on honesty — and every loss comes straight out of the pockets of the people behind the counter.

Please be aware of this tactic, especially if you run a till or handle cash. If the man involved reads this, we invite you to come forward and return what you took.
