The football pitch on Walkfield was repaired several years ago, but its condition has since deteriorated. To address this, the Parish Council applied to the Football Foundation’s PitchPower scheme for funding towards enhanced grass pitch maintenance and improvement works.

We are delighted to have secured a grant of £10,666 over six years. Together with a modest contribution from the Parish Council, this funding will enable essential repairs to be carried out and support the ongoing maintenance of the pitch to a high standard.

We are very grateful to the Football Foundation for its support and look forward to seeing Alrewas Colts FC benefit from an improved playing surface for many years to come.

The signs to acknowledge Alrewas as winners in Staffordshire’s Best Kept Village Community 2025 are now in place at the three entrances to the village. These have been crafted from wood recycled from the old MUGA by Alrewas Civic Society member Gary Curnick and kindly installed free of charge by Spencer the Fencer

The Parish Council and KAT (Keep Alrewas Tidy) coordinator Mike Wilcox would like say a big thank you to everyone who turned out yesterday for our litter pick, special thanks if this was your first time with the group you’re very welcome.
It was also lovely to see our new Vicar Jonathan and his wife Sian join us.
As you can see from the picture we collected a large number of bags of waste.
With judging to start shortly in “The Best Kept Village “ competition, we will be letting you all know when this is to take place so that we can, if you’re available, do a last minute quick tidy up.
Thanks again to theGeorge & Dragon and the The Bank Coffeehouse for their continued support.
