🚲 COMMUNITY SAFETY EVENT 🚲

PCSO 8102 and PCSO 8008 attended Trimsaran Leisure Centre today for a National Bike Register security event.

It was great to see so many people from the Trimsaran area attending to have their bikes security marked and registered to help prevent theft and assist in recovering stolen bikes.

We were also joined by the Arson Reduction Officers from MAWWF, who provided valuable crime prevention and fire safety advice to members of the community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event today.

🚨 Community Reassurance Patrols in Burry Port 🚨

Today, officers from the police and Trading Standards were out in the Burry Port area speaking with residents about rogue traders and doorstep crime.

Rogue traders often target vulnerable members of the community, offering work such as roofing, gardening, driveway repairs or maintenance work that is poor quality, unnecessary, or never completed at all.

⚠️ Please remember:

• Be cautious of anyone knocking at your door offering services on the spot

• Never feel pressured into agreeing to work immediately

• Always ask for identification and check reviews or recommendations

• Get written quotes from reputable businesses before agreeing to any work

• Avoid paying large amounts of cash upfront

• Speak to family, friends or neighbours if you are unsure

If you feel uncomfortable or believe someone may be acting suspiciously in your area, please report it to police via 101, or always call 999 in an emergency.

By working together, we can help protect our communities from fraud and doorstep crime. 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

👮‍♀️ Community Engagement Update 👮‍♂️

Our PCSOs, alongside Trading Standards, recently attended the John Burns Centre in Kidwelly to visit the senior citizens group “Coffee in the Cwtch.”

We delivered a talk on scams, staying safe, and how to spot rogue traders. We also enjoyed a police quiz with the group, which created great interaction and some friendly competition!

A big thank you to the staff for the invite and the warm welcome – it was a pleasure to spend time with you all.

🚨 Top Tips to Stay Safe from Scams & Rogue Traders:

• Never give out personal or banking details to unexpected callers or messages

• Be wary of doorstep traders – don’t feel pressured into agreeing to work on the spot

• Always check credentials and get multiple quotes before committing to any work

• If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is

• Talk to a trusted friend or family member before making decisions

If you have any concerns or would like more information on scams and fraud prevention, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Our local PCSOs had a fantastic time attending the RNLI Services Day, engaging with the community and supporting this brilliant event 🌊🚓

PCSO 8102, 8137, and 8167 were on hand to chat with members of the public, answer questions, and showcase some of the work we do to keep our community safe.

It was especially great to see so many young visitors getting involved — children had the chance to sit inside a police car 🚔 and even take part in fingerprinting to become “special agents” for the day 🕵️‍♂️

A big thank you to everyone who came along and to the RNLI for hosting such a successful event. We always value opportunities like this to connect with our community!
