At 14:45 today fire crews from across Lancashire were called to a commercial property fire on Billington Road, Burnley.

Currently there are twelve fire engines in attendance.

If you can see or smell smoke, please keep your windows and doors closed.

Please stay away from the area and do not fly drones, as this may hinder firefighting operations.

Time is running out to share your views.

Our survey on the future of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service closes this Sunday.

We’re currently developing our next Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP), the five-year plan that guides how we keep people across Lancashire safe. At this stage, there are no proposed changes; we’re simply asking communities what matters most to them.

Your feedback will help shape how our services are delivered in the years ahead, and we’re keen to hear from as many people as possible before the survey closes.

Take part in our short survey here:
www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/LFRS26

Closes 5pm Sunday 15 March 2026

Your response will help guide how we protect and support communities over the next five years.

We’re asking for your help to shape the future of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

Our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) sets out how we’ll keep people safe over the next five years and right now, we’re simply listening.

There are no proposed changes at this stage. We just want to understand what matters most to you.

We’re planning for the future of our services and your views matter.

Our Community Risk Management Plan is a five-year plan that outlines how we will help keep people in Lancashire safe. To shape our next plan, we’re inviting residents, businesses and communities to tell us what’s most important to them.

Your feedback will help guide how our services are delivered in the years ahead, with a further, more detailed consultation planned later in 2026.

💙 Can we help your organisation make a real difference? 💙

Our King’s Trust Team are on the lookout for a charity, voluntary group, or not-for-profit organisation in Burnley or Padiham that could benefit from a bit of extra support and a fresh uplift to their space or services.

As part of a 12-week personal development programme, our young people take on a 2-week community project, where they work together to give back to the community they live in — while building confidence, teamwork, and practical skills along the way.

📅 Project dates: 16th–27th February

✨ What’s involved?
• A genuine community uplift
• An opportunity to engage with young people and promote your services
• Fully supported and supervised by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service staff
• Completely free of charge to your organisation

🛠️ Projects could include decorating, gardening, refurbishing, or refreshing community spaces.

If you know an organisation that could benefit, please tag them, comment below, or share this post 💬🔁
